Morning from Hakuba on this mid-week national holiday in Japan.
I am happy to report that it is snowing nicely as I write this report, with over 5cm on the top of my car overnight and visibly around 5-10cm around the neighbourhood. It might be more moist than the lightest and fluffiest, but very welcome all the same. Currently about 0C.
Tsugaike seems to reporting 'about 35cm' of snowfall which certainly sounds good. Other ski areas are reporting more modest numbers: see the list below.
Clearer skies are expected from tomorrow through the end of the weekend, and getting particularly 'mild' (I'll try to avoid the word 'warm') at the weekend.
