New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 167cm

Posted on Tuesday 24th December 2019 This is an archived report. The latest Furano Now report can be found here.

It is another cold start to the day with the temperature -10c. There is a strong wind blowing with some very light snow coming down and cloud is sitting low. There is only a dusting of new snow on the ground which amounts to about 1cm.

The big news is that Prince have officially announced that the Kitanomine Zone will be opened in part today. The Kitanomine Gondola will operate from 8:30am and the Link lift from 8:45am, but due to lack of snow the lower lifts (Kitanomine quad chair and Kitanomine double chair) will not operate. This is good news for advanced skiers with Ladies Downhill, Premium Zone and Furikozawa course in Kitanomine open.

Kitanomine Zone: PARTIALLY open

Furano Zone: Open
