Independent snow and weather reporting from the Furano region of Hokkaido
New snowfall at base 10cm
Snowfall at base this season 385cm
Posted on Monday 21st January 2019 This is an archived report. The latest Furano Now report can be found here.
It is snowing light to moderately at the moment and there is 10cm of new snow in the Kitanomine village. Unfortunately the wind is very strong, but should reduce somewhat during the day. It is possible that the wind may affect the operation of Kitanomine Gondola, although it is too early to know that for sure. There is low cloud on the resort and that combined with the wind whipping up the snow means visibility will be limited. Light snow is forecast for tomorrow, and then a heavy snowfall is predicted for Wednesday night.
