Ocean11 0
I'm getting a bit tired of the cold all the time. That's one reason why I wouldn't be too sorry to move to Shikoku and just go to the cold places to snowboard.
snobee 0
O'11 - Welcome to sunny Shikoku (sometimes). The big challenge in such a move would be the ability to keep smiling when you pay those out of sight highway/bridge tolls on the way to the "better" snow. eg. Seto Ohashi 9,000 yen return. That's some bridge. That's some fee.
Ocean11 0
snobee, I reckon I'd aim to enjoy those 'ficent bridges from the air. Maybe fly to Niseko or something. I'd be counting on getting cheap flights from Matsuyama airport. Have you tried that?
snobee 0
O'11 - haven't done the Matsuyama hop. Intended to fly up to Niseko this season, but the service out of Takamatsu was cut last October. Unbelievable!!! Main city in Shikoku and can't fly to Hokkaido. Am thinking of flying to Sendai and bussing across to Zao in the Spring. But gotta work out the yen & logistics on that one yet. So for the time being it's the local quick fixes in Tokushima & Ehime and the occaisonal BIG BUCKS haul across the Great Divide to Hiroshima & Shimane. Still, managed to put 10 days in to date. Sure to be more.
Ocean11 0
Oh man, they keep cutting these flights! We used to be able to fly to Matsuyama from Matsumoto, but they killed that flight too. But 10 days out is more than I've had, even living in Nagano...
