They have to be put away again promptly after midnight tonight, otherwise she'll never get married, according to tradition. Apparently this is backed up by statistics, but then again, hardly any Japanese women want to get married these days anyway. Just asked my wife what it's all for and she doesn't have a clue. unit 0 Posted March 4, 2005 Share Posted March 4, 2005 That never gettting married superstition came up in conversation with some private students of mine last night so I quized them for some other silly japanese superstitions. They reckon when kids lose their baby teeth they throw teeth from the top jaw under the house and teeth from the bottom jaw on the roof. The belief is that if you do that the new teeth will grow through nice and straight. Just got to look around to see it's obviously not workin... Link to post Share on other sites
