me jane 0
...got a trip planned! Been getting well stressed out working and reading about all the snow. Going to Naeba for a few days at the end of the week. A friend of a friend told me that a really cheap way to do it is to book a twin room package at the Prince with the "super early in" option and then bring lots of friends and a few sleeping bags (but of course I would never do that...) Can't wait
LiquidX 0
Don't they have strict security on entering the Prince Have a good time, hope it is all opened up and good conditions for you.
me jane 0
LiquidX, thanks, me too. Thanks Montoya, bookmarked that place for next time. Actually got a few places in the car if anyone wants a lift up from Yokohama on Wed eve.
big-will 7
I never knew that place was owned by Prince!
cayote 0
Naeba won't be a problem: if you don't want to walk in the front door, enter down the McDonalds end of the main building. Otherwise, you know, one big-nosed, round-eyed foreigner looks much like any other one. Naeba is oh so dull though - think of the ambience of Shinjuku station. Toilet signs written in Braille are over 2 meters up on walls - go figure. Plus, a lovely high-voltage electricity tower dominates the view of the mountain - hello - could this be Japan? me jane 0
The lift passes are for "Mt Naeba" rather than the Naeba Prince slope so I think that covers Kagura too. Hope so.
big-will 7
Yes it does.
SnowJapan Moderator SnowJapan.Com#4 5 Posted January 9, 2006 SnowJapan Moderator Share Posted January 9, 2006 Yes it does me jane. This year they are trying to promote "Mt Naeba" - which they want people to think includes "Naeba" and "Kagura" - with the Tashiro and Mitsumata resorts now just known as areas within Kagura. (That may well be what we though before, but anyhow that's how they want it to be known). Have a good time!
