IM 0
Jim(?) Burton has invented what has became a snowboard back in 70's. It was then called "Snofers" snow + sufin. It only had toe loops to fit your tips of your hiking boots and had a rope tied to the tip for you to hang onto. Everyone laughed at him but now HE is laughing.
Ocean11 0
I believe it's Jake Burton Carpenter , and what he adapted was called the Snurfer. Read about it here; http://snowboard.mountainzone.com/interviews/2000/burton/html/ and here; http://www.strivemag.com/snow.htm and then thank God that there's now an alternative to skis. danz 0
pick up some vintage Warren Miller flicks from mid-80's and you will see some vintage snowboarding footage from the early days... no your roots...you were all wearing multi-colored ski-inspired outfits back then... danz
