SnowJapan Admin SnowJapan 178 Posted April 1 SnowJapan Admin Share Posted April 1 Into the last stretch of the 2023-2024 ski season... Sunday 31st March was the last day of the season for over 80 ski areas throughout Japan. As of 1st April, about 80 ski areas remain open. It is the time of year when we check and record the actual opening dates and actual closing dates of every ski area in Japan. (In some examples, it is not as simple as it sounds!) Over the coming weeks, we will gradually add this data to the individual ski area pages within SnowJapan. Here's one example that has already been done (see the season dates near the top of the page): Maiko Snow Resort https://www.snowjapan.com/japan-ski-resorts/niigata/minamiuonuma/maiko-snow-resort Later in May 2024, we will publish a new interactive chart showing the opening/closing dates of (almost every) ski area throughout Japan. In the meantime, here are the charts we published with the same data for the previous two seasons: 2022-2023 season https://www.snowjapan.com/guides/graphs/japanese-ski-areas-opening-closing-dates-2022-2023 2021-2022 season https://www.snowjapan.com/guides/graphs/japanese-ski-areas-opening-closing-dates-2021-2022 Our 'The ski season in Japan' page will also be updated in May 2024: https://www.snowjapan.com/guides/the-japan-skiing-experience/the-ski-season-in-japan More information about planned opening and closing dates: https://www.snowjapan.com/guides/about/about-season-dates
