montoya 0
Just wondering, is Boarder-X that popular in Japan? If so, any ideas on hot-spots (eg Nagano, Niigata, or Hokkaido??). I've seen a few events on videos, would love to catch this wild-n-crazy sport in person, though... -montoya
c_neesham 0
Boarder X is alive and thriving in this land of the long white cloud. Most resorts host a couple of events each season and several resorts offer set courses open to the general public, although they are generally pretty tame to keep the injuries low. The Japan Snow Board Assoc (JSBA) website lists all the events in Japan. Just choose where is you want to ride, when! Although be careful, protection is essential, courses and competition vary immensely, and it is easy to get injured, whether you do it yourself, the rider just infront of you goes down or the rider behind you collects you! It all still results in you missing the rest of the the season- or just the best powder. Cautions aside, pre-jump everything, make a quick start, avoid the pack and be content with second until the final race and you`ll collect the goodies. Go hard and be safe, Cheers C
rach 1
What exactly is Boarder X?
Ocean11 0
Isn't it where 4 or so riders all set off down a narrow, winding course and indulge in a bit of argy-bargy as they go? Looks like a laugh if you're ready for a bit more than the usual pain.
oo 1
Really? Sounds interesting.
enderzero 0
It is w-a-y fun but incredibly frustrating at times. Around here it is 6 riders at a time going down a windy course usually packed with bumps, table tops, and banked turns. You can be the best rider in the race but if someone grabs you or goes down in front of you it is over quick. I'd love to run som BoarderX in Japan. BTW Boarder-X stands for Boarder-Cross
