norcal 5
I've always seen the horror film that is 'Golden Week' on the Japanese news, involving massive amounts of traffic. (Seems they spend more time in traffic than with family, lol) Anywho, does anyone know how the traffic usually is heading toward Narita (from the Tachikawa area)? Basically the wife will be driving on 5 May (the day before golden week ends) to catch a late flight out of Narita. She plans on leaving about 7-8 hours early (8-10 AM), but would that be overkill, or not enough time? We tend to stay indoors during Golden week, so I've never experienced the traffic jams. Please give me any and all info you may have. Thanks!
pie-eater 207
Wish I could help, but really never done anything like that Golden Week. As you said tend to lay low round that time. Good luck.
Error404 0
I think you should be ok. That's not from GW experience but another national holiday.
