sanjo 2
Well the monkeys are near to Shiga Kogen, which I presume you know. If you only have 4 days perhaps somewhere in that area - you could get Ryuoo Ski Park in as well, perhaps Nozawa. At Shiga Kogen I think pretty much wherever you stay you will be very close to the hills. Skis on trains and buses should not be a problem - this is ski country after all
Tubby Beaver 209
it will depend on where you go....if you go to Shiga Kogen, then most rooms come with meals as there is nothing to do after the lifts close. If you go to Hakuba then romms can come with meals of course but there are lots of restaurant options in town.
jjski 0
Made it finally. Hakuba Goryu/47, Happo, good but so much off limits, back country and views stunning. Cortina awesome, if you see it you can ski it, opposite of Hakuba. Fantastic trees. 2 days at Nozawa Onsen, just wonderful, huge, and lots to offer and the town is amazing. Got to see the monkeys too. What a great country, so easy to get around and everyone extremely helpful. Be back a couple of times every year from now on. Missed the big dumps but home got three feet last week with more coming, skiing usually goes to late April, early May. Thanks to everyone for the tips.
