The extremely intelligent politicians of Minnesota have recently decided to shut down (suspending 22,000 positions) the government in order to protest a deficit existence.

Now here's the kicker....Here's the irony/travesty/hypocrisy:

The deficit was left by a Republican governor who called it a "projected deficit" of $5billion. The shut down was initiated by Republicans. I wish I could see humor in this if it wasn't so incredibly harmful to so many people. I don't understand how people can take an already simplistic mentality of letting the markets run everything to an even simpler and childish mindset of shutting down the government.

This is not an attack on Republicans by any means, there are plenty of Democrats to blame as well. However, the demagogues like Michelle Bachmann, Sarah Palin, Donald Trump etc seem to be plaguing this country with very inane ideals.

I've a mate that will be very happy at this, he is a staunch Republican and Free Market supporter. He'll be seeing this as the start of a "revolution" against those lefty-liberals and the "socialists in sheep's clothing" that are the Democrats and failing that he'll be able t find one of those pesky Socialists somewhere in this mess! smile

That's the ridiculousness of it all. It doesn't matter if you are a Republican or Democrat. Just simply shutting down the government hurts everyone and takes the maturity level to the 5 year old plugging his ears screaming "I can't hear you!".
