Saitaman 1
Hi there haven't posted for a long time. Back in Japan now and looking forward to getting out on the snow very soon. Got a question about Maiko Kogen, or as it seems to be called now Centeleisure Maiko Snow Resort. It's in Niigata close to Yuzawa. Can someone explain to me the layout of the place. It seems that there are two main areas, the one with the gondola and the one on the right side (as you look at the mountain), but the gondola side looks bigger. Are they connected well and which is better? Cheers.
muikabochi 208
Hi Saitaman and welcome back I was there today! Yes it used to be Maiko Kogen / Maiko Korakuen but a few years ago became Centleisure Maiko Snow Resort. The 2 areas are connected but only be 1 very short connecting (pair) lift. The gondola side is definitely the best and bigger area. The right hand side area (I think that is still known as Korakuen) seems to get tons of ski schools and students and there's a fair few slow single lifts. There is one fast triple lift that goes up to the far right and there's a fun run down from there, but I would recommend anyone to go to the Gondola area and up to the "Bowl". Saitaman 1
Thanks muikabochi, that helps. Gondola side it is, or at least I'll push for it!
