Good ski school/reasonable accomodation for Hokkaido

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum, would really appreciate any advice.

We skiied for 1st time last year at Nozawa Onsen and loved it. This year we plan to go to Hokkaido as we have to be back before Christmas and it snows late in Nozawa. But there too many options in Hokkaido and need some help!

I'm looking for a good English-speaking ski school for my kids, ages 14,12 and 6. The 6 yr old didn;t like it last year as the kids' snow park was not open when we were there early in the season and she didn;t want to learn to ski. I'm hoping to find a ski school and resort with programmes/activities geared for young kids.

Also, can anyone recommend accomodation close to ski school/resort? We are first timers to Hokkaido and I am overwhelmed by the many places to stay. Some requirements : English- speaking, family-friendly, budget place for about 7 nights?

Thanks very much!

depends on your budget's budget.

Club Med Sahoro - English no prob, lesson thrown in, they can exhaust the kids for you.

Niseko Village on Higashiyama - hotel with own ski school, right on the slopes.

Niseko Alpen - Ski school right out front. Plenty of english speaking instructors all over the place.

Again, depends on your budget.
