skelonas 0 Posted November 19, 2007 Share Posted November 19, 2007 Does anyone know about this town? On a map, it is Northwest of Furano and southwest of Asahikawa. Is it ultra rural? How long would it take to get to good skiing by car/bus (Furano, etc). How long would it take to get to Asahikawa or Sapporo? As of 2004, the city has an estimated population of 19,792 and a density of 22.84 persons per km². The total area is 865.07 km². The city was once a prosperous coal mining city, its population exceeding 70,000 at its peak, but its population has fallen since the closing of the coal mines."
