CrazyFrog 0
Can someone help me out with a Japanese phrase. If I invite someone over and want to be polite and say the equivalant of "please make yourself at home", whats the best Japanese to use?
gamera 0
I would say 'Goyukkuri douzo' ごゆっくりどうぞ or 'Rakuni shite (kudasai)' 楽にして(ください)

CrazyFrog, 'Domo' is just a prefix, it doesn't mean anything special at all though nowadays even Japanese say just 'Domo' for 'Thank you'. It sounds like you say just 'Very' for 'Thank you very much' which doesn't make sense. Domo arigato = Thank you very much Domo ohisashiburi = Long time no see Domo gobusata shite imasu = Haven't visited you for long >>gamera, isn't the first one you said much more formal than the latter? Hum.. well, more like when the host leaves the visitor alone after serving some cup of coffee ( for example ), the host would say 'Goyukkuri dozo'. You can say 'Raku ni shite (kudasai)' either if you leave the guests alone or stay with them.
