gamera 0
Does anyone know any dictionary for medical words? I think a lot medical words are not available in my dictionaries and online ones. Wonder if any available. Sometimes my guests get hurt on skiing, so I think I had better know medical words as well. Especially words for muscles, bones and nerves. Thanks in advance
Ocean11 0
gamera, have you tried http://www.alc.co.jp/ ? I'd be surprised if that didn't cover most things.
misorano 1
Hi Gams: One of the problems for non-Japanese visiting the docs here in Japan is that many docs know the very technical jargon in English, but don't know the common names for things. They will give you a medical definition, but most regular people don't know what they are talking about. An example is 耳鼻科, which technically is Otolaryngology (which I can't even pronouce), but everyone I know would say "Ear, nose, throat specialist"
Ocean11 0
My bollocks doctor threw in the occasional English phrase. "Ten times masturbation, ne."
gamera 0
Thanks Ocean11, I have bookmarked it. Misos - I agree, probably I don't need some special medical words, just need to learn some medical words people usually use. I could not find a word for "Keitsui 頚椎"
Ocean11 0
けいつい【頚椎】 名 ○vertebrae cervicales(N)<解剖> ○cervical vertebra(N)<解剖> ○cervical spine(N)<解剖> ○C-spine(N)<解剖> I wouldn't know what a cervical spine was if I found one in my okonomiyaki, so saying it in English wouldn't help much. gams, has someone at your pension dinged their C-spine in a bing? gamera 0
No ocean11. I have sore shoulder and read some medical books and wondered if my keitsui got any pressure from sitting on a computer too long.

bettyx 0
ok, sorry, it's rat poison. got it.
gamera 0
Balance ball? No, do you sit on it instead of chair? Probably i may have another problem then lol.... I think what I need is to relax. I always put more stress than needed somewhere. When I write something, my right shoulder gets too much stress than needed(I am a right handed). I have been trying to improve it. For the first time when I am conscious with it, it goes okay bue while I concentrate on writing, anyway much more stress is around the right shoulder which causes sore shoulder. Where can I buy one, bettyx?
