January=睦月(mutsuki)

February= 如月(kisaragi)

March=弥生(yayoi)

April=卯月(uduki)

May=皐月(satsuki)

June=水無月(minaduki)

July=文月(fumiduki)

August=葉月(haduki)

September=長月(nagatsuki)

October=神無月(kannaduki)

November=霜月(shimotsuki)

December=師走(shiwasu)

 

They don't completely match with the name of months we use now because the old names above base on the lunisol calendar. The calender now

we use bases on the Gregorio calender which is one of the solar calender.

Seldom, snowboard. It's literary ones.

But interesting when we see the kanji there because kanji is an ideogram. For example, June is the beginning of a rainy season but the kanji for June ( Minaduki ) say " a month lacking of water " if it's translated as they say. The middle kanji (無) usually means "none", "no" etc. But in this case it means a possesion. So, Minaduki means "a month of water" which matches as it is.
