  1. Anyone here been to that wacky nutty place Dubai in the last year or so? Is it still a building site or actually worth a visit.

Some of the things they are developing there seem really out there, ranging from amazing to... even more amazing and gross.

  2. I just made another thread about my not getting answers from customer service regarding hand luggage allowance on an airline, but thought I'd make another thread as I'm interested to know how much/what have you taken onto a flight in the last year or so?

    Thanks

  3. I'm currently trying to get a clear response from an airline about hand luggage and what I'm allowed. I want to take my computer case as well as a small rucksack that has my camera and 2 lenses in.

It's proving almost impossible to get a decent response from them - so far 3 responses and each one has been very vague and not answering the very clear question I ask. It's almost as if there is no fixed rule when it comes to exactly what they allow or they are just answering their own imagined question rather than mine.

Very frustrating when 'customer service' is like this.

  4. From the man who brought us the Speccy, and this:

perhaps his next machine will be a flying car

    Quote:
Sir Clive, best known for the ill-fated electrical vehicle the C5, said personal flying machines would be “economically and technically possible”.

Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s PM programme, he said: “I’m sure it will happen and I am sure it will change the world dramatically.”

The celebrated inventor said any flying machine would have to be powered by electricity, because petrol engines were not reliable enough.

“It would need to be automatically controlled because we can’t all learn to fly,” he said. “The vehicle would take off from your home and fly to wherever you want to go.” Sir Clive said he had no plans to develop flying car technology but said he would “love to be involved” with any effort.

He said: “Long before the C5, and ever since, I have strongly believed in electric vehicles. I am glad to say it’s all happening at long last.”
