  1. Cheers for all the advice... My current plan is looking like 10 days in Niseko then a week on the mainland - weekend in Tokyo, then nip about on the train to a few places from there. My Japanese mate here recommended sorting out a rail pass before i left. Apparently you cant get the same deals in japan or something - that way we can make an assesment from niseko and tokyo about where to go and what to do with our remaining days. It would be great to get hosed under cherry blossom trees - i would love to travel all around but unfortunatly i only have 3 weeks off work. If its as good as im hoping (or better)

ill be back soon to check out more of it.

  2. Thanks bag of crisps

I guess that would explain the white stuff and the volcano, well the white stuff at least...its not quite as silly a question as it sounds as the snow looked amazing to me and he said apparently it wasnt a great time for snow...but didnt say when he was there. Prolly early season unless he filmed it last year.

(prawn cocktail crisps are amazing, i also like wousterestershershire sauce flavour and monster munch - thats my crisp preference - oh and cool doritos, and lime doritos, and tangy toms - thought you might be interested)

  3. I need to get from Tokyo (flying into Narita - arriving in the morning) to Sapporo - if anyone could suggest the best/ quickest/ cheapest way to do it that would be great.

Money isnt too big a deal - i would much rather pay 2x as much to get there 2x as quick but it would be good to review all the possible options.

  4. Any of you out there who live in the UK or have access to british TV may have seen a report on Niseko that featured on Ski Sunday - Looked fantastic! I have built up the idea of snowboarding in Japan in my head but what i saw on this report was breathtaking!!

Did anyone see it? If so, would you be able to advise what part of Niseko it was filmed in, and also maybe what time of year?

    Cheers in advance! Wooooo!

  5. Hello peoples,

Ive been getting my scottish snowboarding on - not really too shabby really! Some of the best snow ive seen in a good while (in scotland anyway).

I have changed my plans after discussing my trip with my travel buddy - instead of doing the Furano binge, i am just going to head straight to Niseko - Hirafu and do 10days (ish) there before heading to Tokyo - booked up for Bamboo lodge - cheap as chips so we will have plenty money for Sashimi.

Ive read on posts here that 10 days in grand Hirafu isnt too long - we will probably go for a 2 week pass and that should cover lots of good fun times - the accomidation is so cheap that a day trip to Furano isnt out of the question - but i think the commute betwixt furano and niseko is a bit of a farse!!

Is anyone going to be about in Niseko from the 18th of March? Local tour guide willing to be paid in banter and beer? Holla!!

    Check out the homelands

  6. All i can drink for £6? Im strongly considering quitting my job and becoming a Japanese Whaler - this place rules!!!

There are just two of us coming over, myself and a dundonian - should be good crack, hopefully we can make some mental mates to go Boarding/ drinking/ karaoking with.

We are friendly chaps thats for sure - im pretty big in japan too.

  7. Do they cater for round eye? I went to a Cantonese karaoke bar in Singapore because i used to live in honk kong and reckoned i remembered how to sing canto happy birthday "WRONG"!!! Totally **** it, and i cant read Cantonese so the subtitling didnt really help. The asians were hating Al that day!

A few dozen beers and some Karaoke sounds great! My chinese uncle showed me how to do it properly! My speciallity is Eminem in a glasweigan accent. It has to be seen to be believed.

  8. I run a mac and would be using the camera solely for video editing via my mac purposes so its all good either way - i can plug my mac into my tv and watch it that way if i do want to preview my stuff before I burn it.

Im not too bothered about stuff being super cheap, more just getting some crazy technology that i wont see in the UK for another year or so. You get meh??

I figure cameras in the states are cheap as fook, the pound is stonger than the dollar! HOLLA

  9. First of all, thanks everyone - some good suggestions there!

AK - i am mates with some lecht regulars - Jamie Reiach for example, he has a 2090 tattoo which is pretty much as dedicated to the lecht as one could possibly get!!

Gimme some names and ill let you know...Im not big into it on account of the lecht is shite, but i do try and go up as often as possible. Prefer glenshee - if they could lift the park from 2090 and chuck it at glenshee, i would be much happier.

I know boys who work in Boarderline, one of my good mates Andy used to work there so i ken those boys ken. Braaap.

  10. So im heading to Japan at the end of March and i want to turn japanese like the song - turning japanese.

So far i plan to dine at the ninja restaurant, the lock up, eat fugu, buy used panties (for other people), ride ridiculous powder, stay in a capsule hotel, perhaps a love motel and hopefully join and rise up through the ranks of the Yakuza (just kidding). Does anyone have any suggestions as to any other crazy things for me to get up to?

Im pretty much down for whatever so no suggestion is too silly!!

  11. i heard a terrible rumour that the undie vending machines were no more - they had been removed and were now only to be found in the imagination of tokyo-joes (for lack of a better generality) can someone please confirm this - if they still exisit, can you please give me an address to fire into my tomtom/ google maps.

I swear they are not for me, its for my disgruntled uncle and humerous christmas presents for next year.
