  1. You can check out lodge bamboo in hirafu, good prices, nice clean and quiet at nights. Give them a shout about prices for a month.

I sent my boardbag fully loaded with pants and jackets, and my board from niseko to tokyo for £7.50 and it was waiting at our hotel 2days later. I assume it will be alot more to send it international, but still, it will remove alot of hassle and the postal service seems flawless in J-land.

  2. Hello people,

Thats me just home after 17 days in the most amazing place i have ever visited!

I wont bore you with details but here is a quick breakdown:

10days in Hirafu at lodge bamboo, great hosts, great hostel for a great price. No fresh Pow but amazing spring riding. The best off piste (well tree action) EVER! Amazing people, very friendly and amazing food. I think A Bu Cha (excuse gaijin spelling) was the best in hirafu! fantastic sashimi!

5 days in Tokyo - 2 nights in Hotel Sauve near Shibuya - dont be fooled by the name it wasnt sauve, but it was tidy and clean. good location too. 3 days at the Prince Park Tower hotel - wicked place, great views, a little expensive (read: 5000 yen for two of us to bowl 20 frames and drink a crappy beer from a plastic cup) but great service and luxury accomidation.

Ate some live octopus and beef ovaries - got wrecked and rapped with aussys in Splash bar in niseko. Sung Karaoke in shibuya until my throat was buring. Downed sake with blatant disrigard for local customs and still got a smile.

Basically this is just a rant about how i had such a great time in Japan, thanks for all the tips and suggestions - now i just need to figure out how to move there. Maybe, just maybe there is some oil i can drill for!...

oh, and how amazingly gorgeous are Tokyo girls?! Amazing!

  3. eating and nicoteen cravings are similar, ex smokers usually replace their cravings with food - hence weight increase. Nicoteen + Tar etc doesnt actually make you lose weight, it just decreases your appetite. Also regaining your taste receptors after quitting smoking can make food taste better and therefore make you want more.

I know lots of fat people who smoke:)

  4. but, but, how will one smoke the lovely lovely weed in the dam if its a smoking ban??? NOOOOOOOOO! (not that i smoke due to stupid drug tests, but i did 'once' and i wouldnt like others to be forced into doing it in places where it is illegal.

Thanks for the props thunderpants! all i wanted was to not litter in japan!

  5. i think if they are going to ban smoking, they need to ban the sale of cigarettes and stop being big hypocrites. They are either too bad for us, or not, add it to the controlled drugs list.

We fund the NHS, and we drain the NHS, but with or without smokers the NHS is screwed. The state of hospitals in the UK is unbelievably bad. try and find a person who hasnt been either directly or indirectly effected by Superbugs i.e. MRSA, its difficult, cos they are rife. Poor hygiene caused their birth, and is helping them spread.

If the government legalised all (well maybe not all) but a bunch of currently 'controlled' drugs, then they could rake in taxes to help try and sort out our flailing system and also keep a track on exactly who is taking drugs and greatly decrease the number of criminals involved in drug trafficking in our country.

  6. people speak about smoking being dangerous, well more people die from being run over by busses. (perhaps)

My grandad got run over by 20 busses a day until he was 80 and it never did him any harm, mind you, he worked in a bus repair shop and spend all day in a pit repairing damaged bus undercaridges.

i think everyone is entitled to smoke free-ness too, but i think smokers should have the facility to go to a 'smoke club' where they can gather together with fellow smokers to smoke inside. Do you know the only 2 bars you can still legally smoke in the uk are at hollyrood (scottish parliment) and westminister. Its a joke. I love the smoking ban, but i think its a very naziesq rule from a bunch of hypocritic politicians.

  7. i run a mac, and have done for a few years cos i studied design at uni, it seemed logical.

i think the report is correct with these new fangled - "i have just bought a mac and know everything about steve jobs and will constantly give you advice you dont need about things you already know" i bet they spend all day sniffing their own farts and discussing how much better the world would be if everyone listened to creed and U2! Man they p me off.

Macs are better for some things, pcs others (mainly gaming - so i just got an xbox) but still its a choice i think everyone should make for themselves. Just cos you run out and buy a mac book air cos its thin, doesnt mean your cool or alternative or have any right to wear a black polo neck sweater tucked into jeans...grow up

my friends are split down the middle, some used pcs for years others macs, and we are all very similar people. I just hate the lagard cool dads that seem to be popping up with apple stickers on their vespas.

    end rant

  8. I will be flying into terminal 5 on the 2nd of april, but i have not been told about iris scanning and that so i guess i will see all the new technology AND the horrific queing that im used to.

I shall let 'ya'll' know what its like on my return. (we all want to be like americans really)

one word answer, nicoteen! I cant explain it, i know its stupid, but as far as smokers go, im very considerate (i guess). I dont smoke in my flat, or in any public places - just outside, away from people in designated smoking areas.

Im keen to not offend as i know how ridiculously smelly and minging smokers smoke is to outsiders, funny thing is, it tastes amazing on the way in, but smells poop on the way out - like food i guess.
  10. i know its silly, but so is being from wigan, and that effects me, my wiganese mate and i had a rather large argument as to weather i was english or scottish. He recons that even though i was born and raised in scotland to a scottish father and a half irish quarter english quarter welsh mum, that i am english...Go figure. I smoke to deal with the stress Mr Wigan puts on me!!

I know its a stupid habit, but damn those cigarettes are good. Yum yum! Seriously, i would just smoke other stuff if it wasnt for the pesky offshore drugs tests.

DO you know that the Pie-eater thing isnt about wigan pies...someone told me that. Interesting...

  11. Like teachers dont get enough time off already...and dont get me started on banks - they have a holiday every damn week. Granted most people i work with get at least half the year off...but we deserve it...sort of, obviously im rushed off my feet as i started work an hour ago, got up half an hour ago and have subsequently drank coffee, smoked a bine and posted on this forum...

  12. I heard that 4m of fresh snow will fall between the 15th and 17th then from the 18th to the 28th approx 30cm a night. I heard this from myself and base this statement on absolutely nothing.

Lets wait and see. There is a 'storm' about to hit the uk, the BBC and Sky news are going mental! 70mph winds and all the reporters are wearing lift jackets even though they are in the studio. We get 70mph out here in the sea all the time and we are on a tiny bit of metal tied to sand, you dont see me wearing a life jacket, unless im wakeskating, cos going bareback whilst wakeskating is just plain silly
