I kind of recalled seeing something similar and went back to one of your reports
I'll try to get a new one up today.

Centleisure Maiko?

Bit far for me.

You know what I'd love to see on an international flight...... the price every one paid for their seat. A bit number flashing above their head. Or everyone hold up a piece of paper.
It would be very interesting to see all the variations.
And probably quite annoying as well, if you paid more than others.
-
I feel sorry for people affected by all this in Fukushima particularly - lets remember there's no borderline as such - but I sure as heck wouldn't move there.
Wonder how property prices etc have been affected.
-
Nah most of them can't be arsed about this year now, pie-eater.... either flown back overseas for the off season or busy plotting for NEXT YEAR.
-
grinch,... but, but..... it's all true!!!
I think it's becoming increasingly obvious that some of the Hakuba gang are getting quite nervous and spooked out about the mightly competition posed by this emerging new kid on the block.
Niseko people too. This place has just come out of nowhere!

And Tubbs doing his thing. Obviously, having got married he has taken to wearing a wig. A 'dreds' wig in fact.
Haha great pic.
-
Look forward to hearing more snowjunky (unless I've missed it! )

Nasty day today!
-
Cool.
So let's collectively not raise expectations then.
-
Not long now!!
Have a fun time.

They'll be the ones that go something like this:
"A grey, miserable day in the Niseko Resort Area so I took the chance to take a day off from skiing."
or
"The lifts were on wind hold in the Niseko Resort Area so we went to Kiroro instead"
Yeah, and there's just so many of them in your reports!
(And general Niseko comments)
'The lifts were on hold' is pretty shocking stuff, I must say.
Oh I know, I've seen plenty of them skiing & boarding at Moiwa, Rusutsu and Kiroro with faces like slapped arses because many of them have no real idea of where to ski / board for the best conditions on the day and more importantly the terrain suited to their ability and the twin tip, heavily, rockered, fat and long ski they've been told to rent or buy. They are just so frikkin dumb aren't they*, those tourists. ( *Time for a GoNative interlude I suspect! )
Silly people coming here on a holiday and not getting it pitch perfect every time.
It's their fault, not the fact that the conditions were less than 'epic' when they came.
-
Apparently, I must have missed all of your posts explaining when things were less than totally epic.
I'll perhaps have to go back over them to find those, can't quite remember seeing any.
As for people venturing beyond Niseko, well yes I agree and a fair few do that now - including a few of the people I mentioned who came back disappinted. Sorry... but it is true!
Anyway. Let's skiing.
-
Monsters all gone now hey?
it's on he list.
-
MikePow, why can you keep on apparently not being able to accept that other people may have been disappointed?
You obviously have not been disappointed with all your many stories of magnificently epic conditions.. And they do indeed look fab.
But the reality is that more than a few normal (for want of a better word) holiday-goers have.
Just live with it, it's not a personal afront. You simply dismissing that other real-world opinion does you no favors in believability.
-
Well, yeah, exactly.
That is why I would not recommend people come now.
And a day or two aside, people have been disappointed with large chunks of March this year in Niseko.
That is what people who have visited have told me, and I agree with them.
I'm sure they would go 'HUH?' if they hear of continued amazing endless epic Niseko powder when talking about the time period they were there.
-
Having said all those lovely words, I wouldn't recommend people to come now.
More than a few have gone home disappointed, whatever Mike insists.
I know, because I have taken them to the airport.
-
It seems silly for resorts to allow so many moguls to form when it seems clear most people don't like 'em.
Unless the resort is 'famous' for them or something, like it's a selling point and people go there to mogul.
Hate them myself.
-
Not very bright of the thief there, ippy hey!
-
Thanks for that muikabochi, interested to hear these thoughts.
-
You're right about that extreme misinformation about the lifts!
Not cool indeed.

Interesting Metaboy Oyaji, strange seeing a proper lift like that. In places like this I thought the lift was usually a crappy t-bar.
How far did you travel for your crazy day out?
