  1. As the previous posts suggest be careful buying boots online they are the most important thing in the world, maybe you can go into one of your local shops in perth and try on some boots and if you do feel something that fits like a glove then go online and buy the same sort at a cheaper price perhaps....I just bought a board through an online shop out of New Zealand as the AUS dollar is so strong and the shipping was much more reasonable than the US.

  2. Snowjunky is there a bank account number where I can deposit my money to get on the J List...I think I've missed 2 updates I feel left out LOL

So in lieu of a huge cash deposit a beer would be fine should we meet in J-land :)

When you get to Myoko go to a pension called Mont Cervin Im sure I left a bottle of bundy rum there a cpl of years back and have one on me.........

  3. Black Mountain that is one of the best views in the world to have, I am so envious!!!!!

My wife just can't understand and is annoyed with me....

Footy season is now officially over, so she's thinking OK my wonderful husband won't be glued to the TV each night watching live footy, replayed games, games from the past, footy show, stats show and anything else related to footy!

But then I look at the photos of Fuji and Yeti and see some early snow, the juices flow, look at the calendar and start to count the days before I jump on that 400 ton plane and jet my way to the rising sun looking for the best snow falls in the world.

Well I'm sorry honey whilst I will try and show you some form of interaction and attention unfortunately most of my time will be spent on snowjapan.com reading threads and stories about my other passion "snowboarding"

  4. I am amazed at the amount of contradiction in opinion on snowboards.

I believe a lot of it has to do with which store you visit whether it be in person or online and depending which manufacturer that store is aligned with as to what rebates or deals that store receives from any particular manufacturer and what the best Gross Profit is on a particular board and then you have how inexperienced the consumer is to believe all marketing jargon they have just been sold.

I know my daughter when buying a board believes she is a better rider than I think she actually is and I think a lot of people are of a similar ilk, are we better riders than we actually are???

And then I have seen my daughter listen to some special sales spiel convoluted amount of technical diarrhea and all of a sudden there are 5 boards lined up in front of her then she makes her a choice on colour and design...

I am looking at buying a new board and I am more confused than ever, I feel like buying 10 different boards roping them all together and riding them all at once.

I pose the question to anyone that has an opinion for me?

Exp 6 years, intermediate / advanced, a cruiser, love tree riding in POW! 90KG and 5' 11"

Current bindings flow something or rather (In storage ready for Xmas in Niseko)

I am interested in how many boards will be recommended????

  5. There are good and bad in all races and cultures, where as I have found Japan to be one of the more honest countries I have visited. I hope this doesnt sound to bad but I have found in my many travels around the world that crime is higher in lower societ economies where crime is the only option for some people and here we spending god only knows how much money on wars and there so many people with nothing. However I am big believer of KARMA so hopefully I will be ok

  6. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with on selling a unused portion of your day ticket on the very rare occasion that it would happen to any of us, it's not as though there are bunches of scalpers hanging around the ticket return machines asking everyone if they have unused tickets left and then sprooking to the public they have tickets for sale and profiting from the scam. So a once off?? - no problems , profeesional scalper?? lock them up!!

  7. I just thought I would post some info about some real good accom I got from the Snowjapan website. The hotel/Inn is called Freedom Inn and is located about 500mtr from Hanazono 308 base, which is so convenient each morning being so close and getting first tracks before the crowds hoard in from Hirafu. The inn is owned by a westerner and has local and western staff that are really nice and helpful. The standard of the place is what I would classify as "Boutique Style" without paying boutique prices. The rooms are well sized and they have a restaurant attached which serves a great breakfast and a sensational menu for dinner. Even though it is located 20 minutes from Niseko they have their own van and are more the helpful dropping you off or picking you up whenever required whether it be Niseko or Kutchan. Another luxury is their own hot bath which is wonderful to fall into each day after a long day on the slopes. Basically to sum it up they get my thumbsup and if were to rate it I would give it a 9.5/10 Well done Freedom Inn thanks for the great hospitality.
