I am a french PhD student. I arrived in Japan two weeks ago at Tsukuba. I will study snow remote sensing using the new Japanese satellite ALOS.
Using PALSAR/ALOS data, I will be able to retreive snow extents and snow water equivalent at a very high resolution (about 10m). However, in order to validate my algorithms, I would like to get some in situ snow measurements or snow estimations in Hokkaido, precisely near Nemuro prefecture (Naka Shibetsu) for the last winter.
