You obviously haven't skied in Europe Thursday if you think that is a lift line

Don't think I should be in this esteemed company.
If you read back you'll find I even enjoyed the turns on the rain day.
No such thing as bad turns in my book, just bad skiers/riders. -
Nip deep (without hip checks ) in Miharashi at 4:30pm.
Beg, steal or borrow a day off tomorrow.
If you're on holiday, enjoy.
It will be epic. Guaranteed.

Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin.
IT IS ON IN NISKEO UNITED.

I've skied 9 of the 20 and would say that none of them would win any awards in the 'Best Resorts of the World' category.
1. Mt. Baker Ski Area Washington 641
2. Niseko resorts Japan 595
3. Alta Ski Area Utah 523
9. Snowbird Ski Resort Utah 461
12. Powder Mountain Utah 400
13. Solitude Utah 399
16. Crystal Mountain Washington 390
18. Brighton Resort Utah 381
20. Fernie Alpine Resort British Colombia 369

There are other resorts in the US that should be on that list, namely Snowbasin,Utah.
Not the most accurate, but highlighting resorts that their readership may have heard of I presume.

Take a trip Mongoose.
You may be pleasantly surprised.

With the exception of the rain day and the ice day, the skiing so far this winter has been better than last winter IMHO. Can't speak for seasons previous to last winter.

If everyone has your attitude Mongoose then that would explain why there are so many untracked lines to be skied this winter.
Plenty of sasa about, plenty of snow, and plenty of face shots.

Been instructing 6 hrs a day. No time for pics sorry.
First chance, they'll be up.
-
Plenty of pow to be skied after 10am in the Niseko area.
And plenty of pow to be had in March.

My 2 yen worth.
Measurements outside my house at ~300m.
15 Nov 07 - 21 Nov 07 : 105cm
22 Nov 07 - 28 Nov 07 : 52cm
29 Nov 07 - 05 Dec 07 : 108cm
06 Dec 07 - 12 Dec 07 : 54cm
13 Dec 07 - 19 Dec 07 : 89cm
20 Dec 07 - 26 Dec 07 : 72cm
27 Dec 07 - 02 Jan 08 : 83cm
November 2007 : 177cm
December 2007 : 318cm
Lost quite a bit of snow after the rain event on Saturday 29 December 2007, but 78cm (up to 7am this morning) has covered the crunch and made for deep turns and over the head blower the past two days.
I'd guess that close to 20-25cm fell during the day today.
Snow forecast until Friday.
As you were.
-
New Year's Day turns off the peak. Too many face shots to count. Blower over the head.
Another 27cm in the past 24 hrs.
-
Much better turns this afternoon.
Between 10 and 20cm since yesterday.
Hanazono got the most.
-
4cm overnight. Bollocks
-
Didn't snow.
Ice rink today.
-
Get after it fellas.
Skating rink in Niseko.
-
The groomers were actually decent today.
The rain most certainly was NOT.
Same goes for the wind.
Only the lower lifts open due to high winds.
Just don't get it. Why the f would anyone want to ski in the rain?
As a guestimate I'd say the snow line is at the top of the Ace #2 Quad.
Off groomed down low was saturated and slowwwwwww.
If it doesn't snow tonight then the lower mountain will be an ice rink tomorrow.

Don't want to be the harbinger, BUT....
the wrong side of zero
windy as Chicago
and RAINING in the village

Planning on doing a spring trip skiing from Mt Yotei to Iwanai before the Niseko Panorama road (66) opens up.
Skied Yotei on 28 July this year and stood on top of a snowcapped Mekun-nai-dake (the next peak across from Iwanai) on 04 June.

Snowing lightly at village level since 9am this morning.
Too cold for rain at the moment.
