  1. think I'll go with Functionality =)

I don't need to freeze my ButtCheeks off. Plus bling gets caught when you are ripping through Forests. (On playstation at least =)

Actually, the only thing I really wanna buy is some explorer socks (warm), and some good pants. I bought some boots on ebay for $1 heh heh (No-one else bidded (IS Pink a bad color? <-- Joke...)

Will look in Hakuba when I arrive in Feb for pants, although I assume things will be pricey?, in any case, it will be summer here when I leave, so i don't think "Budgie Smugglers" will be very comfortable...

  2. =)

nah, I overlook Trees & valley, well, if I cut down the Trees I see the valley. My Parents live in Darlington, and have a beautiful view of the City, really amazing. Perth next year? I'll chill some beers for ya matey (We have some AMAZING) beers produced locally in the last 10 years, about 20 Micro Brweries have opened. Jeez, you are gonna be amazed, perth has boomed, hope you bought a house in perth back then, cos they cost a fortune now... =(

  3. yeah mate, Just North West of Mundaring.

Lovely Place. if it ever Snowed, I live on 2000 sq metres @ a 40 degree angle block, would make an awesome downhill, as long as you dodge the Grasstrees =) . My veranday would make a sweet drop off too...

Oh, and Mundaring is home to Little Caesars Pizza, the best in the World =)

It is a real pain, but will save $600Aud a ticket, which pays for my Lift pass & more. =)

I also just bought a board & Boots from melbs on Ebay, but lookign at rental prices, I probably shouldn't have bothered. Oh well..... =)

  6. Hiya all,

I know this is waaay early to post, but I am flying to Japan on Feb 12th 2008, and will be heading up to hakuba on the 14th, to snowboard for a week. (My first time to Japan)

I was was wondering if anyone had any tips for an English speaking n00b.

My partner is not coming with me, so I will be alone unfortunately, so hoping to meet someone to go boarding with each day.

    I'm 34, a web designer & I enjoy a good drink after a hard day.

(geez, starting to sound like a desperate personals add =) heh heh.

I haven't boarded for years & years, but my level back then was intermediate (but I enjoy black runs).

Anyhow, any tips, advice, offers etc are warmly regarded, and will make my trip even better.

    Thanks for reading,

    Regards,

    Ryan

  7. Sheesh, you guys are bad. I work in WA for the Dept of Environment and Conservation, so I am gonna pretend i didn't read the last 4 msg's about eating wombats. (oh, and it's chicken, they taste like chicken =)

Anyhow, I thought it was the Hopping Drop Bear?

Some great pics of over east. I have never skii'd in Australia before, but would love to head over east one year, or maybe to New Zealand.

have Ski'd in Italy once & France 2 times, but this upcoming trip to Japan will be my first.

hey TJ_OZ, I am probably heading to Hakuba, so any info or hints mate will be really appreciated.

keep the pics comin, they look great!

  8. Good Thread,

I am a total n00b to this site, and am trying to find a good place to ski. I am also going in February, but only for 7 days. =(

I am prob same as Inverted, I haven't boarded for 7 years, but it's just like riding a bike, the first time you break something, it hurts.. Oh hang on, wrong saying....

I have the chance to sandboard & ski etc to get back into it....

Anyhow, I just want to find nice snow, lots of difficult tracks.

I heard Nozawa Onsen is quite nice?

Oh, and I'm going by myself. i don't speak Japanese, nor read, so is it best to join a tourgroup?

    Any replies are really appreciated.....
