Yes Im going for sking, I have skied Hakuba a number of times during the season. I wasn't aware it holds snow into the summer. How accessable are these areas? I have never heard of Norikura, I need to do some more investigating. Thanks for the suggestion Fattwins

Yeah, I checked that way out already the drive to Toyama would be brutal in tolls.

I would like to get up to Tateyama more often, but the price is killing me. Between the drive from Tokyo and the 9000 yen it takes for a round trip ticket to Murodo from Ogizawa. Thats one expensive lift ticket. The prices for lodging up there are outrageous so camping is the only option for me. Does anyone a more economical way to get to Murodo?
