Some sweet footage in there. FT sneaking in for an undercover charge at ******* trees I see.

You ****ing ****s can't believe you ****ers got that. Damn I feel stupid now!
Still I live in hope of cleaning up the leftovers as the temperatures look to stay the right side of freezing.
edit: some really nice shots there, working the angles! On a good light day I reckon you might have had a couple of real keepers!

Break the presses!

I'll speak to her after work and get it sorted. Also SC should be back tomorrow I guess.

Late afternoon or early evening. BUT I would have to check with Risa, I don't want her to be abandoned. So if she can't go thursday then I will wait for in Tokyo and you'd have to go ahead on thursday.
-
I am trying to get out of a thursday evening meeting I have. I have stuff to do in the day on thursday which can't be avoided though I am afraid.

I'm not happy about this I've ended up missing somehing much better than what I was expecting. Going to try to get up a day earlier this weekend to see if I can catch the tail.
Was the cute english girl still working in Sakka restaurant?

I am jealous... no worries about the lift, staying in Tokyo ended up being fun anyway. Anway, doesn't mean anything without pics!

That is a pretty cool photo. When did you take it, must be this season right?
By the way can you check your pms?
edit: ah, you already did

Thanks for putting those up.
Stance so wide... still sitting back... anyway, better to know and improve than be blissfully ignorant.

Report please!

The debris shot is another Dan classic, not me I'm afraid.
I hope Yamashiro san gets better quickly as well. Because he was able to get back down without complaining a lot I thought it might not be too bad, but I think he was just being tough. It seemed a lot worse the next day... -

I suspect Loon is trying to deflect attention from the fact that he didn't have the stamina to come back down the bank once he'd dragged himself over.
After skiing half the valley with those skis strapped to my back I was pretty careful not to toss them into the river... anyway I am going to try to stop taking the bait now. -

I took them in last night. The shop are sending them back to the volkl office in Japan (they make the decision). The shop guy, who was a pretty nice guy who remembered me buying the skis, said that he thought I would be lucky to get them replaced because the nature of the break showed that I basically stabbed them into the snow and any ski would break under that stress. He added that in these circumstances they often offer a deep discount on replacements as some kind of consolation prize. We'll see what happens. Otherwise I guess you may have a 183 soft Bro-ther for next season!
At any rate I am ski-free for this weekend... -

One of my skis nearly clipped Tokyo Tower I threw it so hard. None in the drink for me. -
Is that la tonneau (or however it's spelt)? I used to have lunch there at least once a week.

I am trying to get a couple of people together to come and see you on Thursday

Akiba Sport, Ochanomizu. Limited ediion though, only 25 exist. All of last year I regretted buying it but now I kind of like it after all. -
Dan's camera is a G7 (most of these pics are his). Mine is a G9 (some pics here, but I only just got it so can't use it well). I will figure out who shot what this evening so you can see which camera/photographer you like.

This one is bigger. I'm holding on to it for the time being.
Kuma, it was educational as to just how impossible it is to get sweet shots. Still, hopefully will have plenty of practice these next few weeks.

Last Saturday a 6 man team of KOM, Tsondaboy, OkemoLoon, Dan, Yamashiro san and Charlie decided to take a hike up the back of Happo One. Also active in the area was another team supporting Fattwins on his first Broventure.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so...
edit: by popular demand I've tagged the photos with photgrapher name, as best I can remember. If I didn't tag it then it's by Dan, as he took the most.
KOM forgot his sunglasses so went for a Hepburn look courtesy of Tsondagirl (Loon)
Dan showed his hiking pedigree, leading the pack throughout (Me)
Charlie hardly broke a sweat
It was a great day for a hike (Tson)
Yamashiro san crests a roll
OkemoLoon summits
The altitude appeared to be having an effect
On the way up we saw people had been enjoying this meadow. Check out the three spires of Kaerazu-no-ken in the background. (Me)
Let's see that a little closer. Any takers? (Me)
We continued over the next ridge. I hadn't been that far back before, and as we continued it became clear that there is lots (Me)
of (Me)
awesome (Me)
terrain. (Me)
This cliff (foreground) is waiting around for me to get some skills and courage... in my dreams (Me)
We paused at the top for the obligatory group shot
But Dan was raring to get going (Me)
Loon drops in
Please sir, can I have some more? (Me)
KOM drops in
The snow on the second section was better than we could have hoped for.
Tsondaboy:
Charlie [actually Tsondaboy it seems, I couldn't tell]:
KOM:
Loon pulls in:
Dan was looking sharp all day: (Me)
Unfortunately Yamashiro san tweaked his knee in the uneven snow conditions and couldn't ski all the way out. We were forced to take leisurely stroll through avalanche gully, which was not the most fun thing ever.
Getting down however we can:
Sharing the load
Not designed for skiing
Crossing the river... (Tson)
...brought its own difficulties
The way out was not always smooth
But Gandalf was well prepared
No line would be complete without a dam for Dan (Me)
It was thirsty work so KOM hit the river for a refresh
Thanks guys, thanks mountains! And thanks to all photographers, especially the ever-ready Dan. We'll be back soon.

I knew you were just going to taunt me with how good the lines were so I didn't answer on Sunday! I reckon 6 times is a bit overstating it though.
