I sincerely hope that's the last you hear of it griller.
Good luck ! -
more people may be viewing these forums as a result of that article and reference to SJ.
Will people now be on their best behaviour ?

you've got plenty of options if the 25th is a travel day for you.
ranked most expensive and fastest on down:
1) Tokyo St. to Shinjuku St. via train.
Shinjuku St. to Hakuba St. via "Azusa" express train
2) Tokyo St. to Nagano St. via Shinkansen/bullet train.
Nagano St. to Hakuba village via bus
English link for the Nagano St. to Hakuba village bus . Last year, this bus was 1,400 yen one way.
3) Tokyo St. to Shinjuku St. via train.
Shinjuku St. to Hakuba Village via bus.
Also, if you're coming from Narita Airport, there's the NEX (Narita Express Train) that goes through Tokyo St. and ends at Shinjuku St.
9.30am so seem to have more connections to juggle with -
it can only be good for the Japanese ski industry to get some international exposure.
Despite the inaccuracies mentioned by others it is surely a step in the right direction. Amongst passionate skiers/boarders it doesn't take much to spread the word. Heck, even regular exposure and spruiking on ski forums based in other countries will rustle up a few visitors. IMHO.

Monday was a great day to be in Hakuba - here are 10 pics taken during the day. There were jumpers training on both ski jumps - about 100 hand gliders and para whatevers in the air and fesh snow on top. The little guy is Kaz...

Looks like you had a great day -

27cms isn't enough to ski on but it's enough to get up there and at least walk around or climb something big -

Interesting but not in our life time will Europeans go en masse to Japan for skiing.
Most of the best stuff is right on their doorstep. -
use the touring to get closer to nature and incorporate the natural theme into the redecorations.
Ergo ski touring = decoration research
-
I see a few Brits on the forums but get the impression they haven't descended en masse yet. Is that true ?
Can the Brits answer whether there is much marketing or discussion toward Japan ?
I infrequently visit an English ski forum and there isn't much talk on Japan just yet.
I am English and often talk to friends and family and most have heard of skiing in Japan but don't know much about it.

i think Gervais is incredibly talented. In one of his first appearences for Michael Parkinson he came on and just spoke for 10 minutes, keeping the audience in stitches and Parky was just laughing. Parky said it was the longest it had been before Parky was able to get a word in on his own show -
I enjoyed it, the same cringeworthy situations

Echineko, are you struggling with a problem you'd like to share ?(in all the fine details) -
I prefer to go direct, however for an impending trip to Japan we have found the agent is quite a bit cheaper.
To stay on topic, treat others how you would like to be treated, ie with respect and courtesy. You make lots more friends that way
