Looking round, I saw a bunch of guys with funny looking helmets and balaclavas. I thought cool, but then realized they were beards and rags on their heads. OMG, it has gotten to this.

A not so dim witted fellow can still find Goosie's comment freely available in his opening post. At least Tex got it right with 'flippant' and flippant is where it should have stayed.
  2. I'm no expert but I did see a documentary about cross dressers. Apparently being a cross dresser doesn't necessarily mean that you are gay. Some very real men, that live a very masculine life, just like to frock up occasionally.

    Why? Buggered if I know.

  3. Are you training up to sort that ref out MB wink

I've been hitting the pool again. 2.6 km with a mix of lung busters and paddles.

It's getting a bit harder to be motivated when the air temp in the morning is 10 deg. The water is heated to 23 deg.

The first 4 laps are the worst.

  4. Mitch, just how easy is it to buy a gun in the US. I've heard stories about some states where the average punter, without a criminal record, can walk into a gun shop walk out 10 minutes later with a gun. Is that true?

BTW- I think it's DiGriz's post that stuffed up this thread. Seeing as no one can understand it. Do you mind deleting it?

The thing people need to understand behind these murders is 9/10 times they are done with ILLEGAL weapons. Yes our right to bear arms forbids people convicted of crimes to own firearms.

I don't think that this is very relevant as the the easy availability and access to legal guns is what creates a huge flow of guns into the community.
  6. MB- Sounds like a crappy situation. I'm not sure how I would've reacted to that. I'm a believer of 'what happens on the field stays on the field'. My boy took a punch to the head after he nailed this kid in a bone jarring tackle. It was in full view of the ref and he dealt with it swiftly with a penalty.

On the coaches side of the field, we dealt with professionally too (we all sit together) but the parents in the grandstand went nuts. A fight nearly broke out. The kids shrugged it off and played on, shaking hands at the end. All forgotten.

It's a lot different to your situation I know but the point is, the parents seem to make a much bigger deal out of it than the kids.

    Sorry for hijacking the thread.

The local Hash is a pretty tame, family friendly affair. The kids love it, they get to run around at night with torches following a trail and yelling coded messages etc.
I once did one in the Northern Territory and there was a hell of a lot of drinking involved. It was madness. Running around the scrub in 35 deg heat drinking green ginger wine at every stop.
They describe themselves as drinkers with a running problem.
