  1. A few older posts have described Kiroro as having good powder but only intermediate runs. One or two mentioned heading off trail there for a greater challenge. Coming from a land of ice & hardpack, deep powder may be challenging enough.
  2. Thanks - got skype for call from US Any suggestions for day trips to more challenging resorts than Kiroro... my post was confusing - first time skiing Japan, not first time skier.
  3. Anyone know if Kiroro has Gaijin sized rental equipment? We're staying at Kiroro for the first time 02/6 - 02/10, wondering if we can rent at the resort or if it's better to get equipment elsewhere. Also reading the boards Kiroro sounds more intermeidate, any more challenging resorts that can be day tripped from Kiroro? Thanks! Val
  4. Hi Steve Lots of questions there. In short, the boarding possible in Japan is (in the right place) awesome. Many peoples favotite places are up in Hokkaido - Niseko being the most famous one - but there is a huge choice in Honshu nearer Tokyo. Some places are reachable within 90 minutes from central Tokyo, which is pretty amazing if you think about it. Many resorts have over the last 3 or 4 years got so much more welcoming towards boarders - before that they were looked on as amusing oddities on the slopes - but many resorts now actually have more people on the board than on 2 ski
