Yeah, the fad started before Shaun White. In my opinion it's not really to save their face, it's just fashionable. I don't mind some goggle tan but too much is disgusting.

The trees are really good but I've only gone in them from the resort. All my buddies in the area are small-time freestylers. They all line up to do 180's off moguls while I go by myself in the trees. sigh....

Toque, I live 5 mins from the Tateyama interchange. nice place to live but the snow we get here is too wet. There's also retarded management at the local mountain, gokurakuzaka (fun trees though).
and since we're describing how we look, I'm a big gaijin with a camo/plaid (it's plamo!) down jacket and a big ass Doraemon sticker on my snowboard.
I'd love to meet up with u guys to see if I can keep up. If I can't, did I mention I'm a filmer/editor? he he he

The Man in the High Castle by Philip K Dick
Just finished that. It was brilliant! The book is set in a world where Japan and Germany won the second world war and both occupy the states.
All the characters use the I Ching, a book called the oracle which gives advice on the present. I am checking that out now. It's pretty cool. I asked the book (the I Ching) what type of winter I would have, threw the coins and it told me that if I rode with people better than me I would have good fortune. Yeeha!

just don't fluff the covers! if you sleep with the blanket tight around your neck then you can contain the fart until it disipates. Buy a can of air freshener spray and keep it by the bed.

I'll be hitting Hakuba sat & sun. I've recently discovered that Hakuba is actually a good place! (Had spent most of my time up til now in Gunma or Myoko.)
question for fattwins: I've read your reviews for hakuba resorts and I am wondering why you wouldn't be going to cortina for the opening day on sat. Just trying to figure out where to go.

Most of the Burton jackets have ipod pockets.
Just because of that i looked into ipods but I while I was tempted, I didn't see anything worth the price. Going to wait a couple of generations I think.
@Iambenw: check out the band menomena. It's in the same line as the bands you mentioned. Incredible songs that are 20 minutes long.
