Some sport shops now are having really good deals on whole sets. The Super Sports Xebio chain has entire board + bindings + boots deals starting at around 20,000. Some deals on their high-end equipment start at around 30,000-40,000.
I think Sports Authority sells snowboard sets for about 20% off.

Forgot to say that some recycle shops sell some pretty good used snowboard equipment for really cheap. I bought my 154 litovaara rossignol for only 1500 yen at a recycle shop in Chiba! It was a little old and rusty around the sidewalls, but with some tuning and a good wax job, I had myself a great snowboard for real cheap!

some travel agencies will offer discounts on rental equipment if you buy the lift passes from them.

I live near the Tokyo area (in northern Chiba-ken actually).
Anybody know of any one-day package deals like a round trip bus/shinkansen leaving Tokyo + lift ticket?
Of course if anyone has a car in the northern Chiba area and is willing to gimme a ride, I'll be okay to help pay for gas and toll road expenses.

My birthday is coming up. Anybody know of any resorts that have free/discounted lift pass deals for birthdays?
Back in Cali, I used to ditch work and go to the ski lifts because the resorts offered free lift passes for people celebrating their birthdays. I'm hoping I can do it again this year if fate allows it.
