    cool, so it's not a $2000 lens. great thumbsup.gif
it's good to know you can still get awesome shots with cheaper lenses [/QB]
yes it is a 2000 buck lens but not shot at 2.8 which it bottoms at. 5.6 allows for more detail in the entire picture at 2.8 it would look alittle different. good glass is key to good images on a consistent basis. On the other hand here some pics I took the other day on the 18-55 kit lens (piece of crap) that came out decent but would have been much nicer on good glass. Lots of PS went in to these to save them.
  2. the stress ... is lift lines, people cutting under cliffs, slide sliping your lines, people telling you why you cant ski this and that and on and on ...buuuuuut. when your in the zone in your head all this negs make the biggest positive when you get away with slaying the blue bird pow lines. A feeling I've yet to beat weather in nowhere land on foot, sled or heli. Theres something about the hecticness that's really satisfying.

Also dont forget that the resort is only teeny percent of whats available to ride in this neghborhood. You want peace, love and pow turns, it's here and waiting.

I love the exposure on that shot.
what's the fstop on your lens? Is it2.8 or higher?
I've got a 4-5.6 so I'm just wondering if a shot like that is doable.
that wasnt really across the valley, more on a arm of that zone and yes shredding is first priority unless the lines are insane and light is epic then i am camera man.

these 2 pics are from the next run which was mine.

  4. trips been altered to just fun no work...maybe take some pics if the opportunity arises. I leave on thursday, from nartia then head south to some surf for a probly 10-14 days then up to posibly kyoto(if nicks around) and on to hakuba and niigata. Nothing in stone but I think thats what will happen.

  5. looking for some help with car hire, would like to rent a vehicle, preferably a van in Nartita for a few weeks. Does anyone have any good links to websites that would be helpful or know any companies that would be most affordable?

Ideally I would like to drop the car in Nigaata. Not sure if thats an option?

any good experience or bad ones I should know about?

    thanks

i think at some point Ill be in hakuba, would like to hook up some off you folks. but basicaly my ticket is open for 30 days and I have to be in Toronto on the Aug 24th and likley leaving vancouver on the july 27th or a few days earlier.

Im not sure if I am heading straight from narita to the coast or going to hakuba and nigaata before then driving back to the beach. But if my thinking is right it makes no sense to go to niigata first.

anyone know any good places to rent a van thats would be ideal for sleeping? Also I think I remeber seeing super cheap sleeping bags at JusCo, Am I crazy to think Ill be able to get a shitty bag for 10 bucks? Also undecided if I should bring my tent, whats a beater tent worth out there? tHanks
  7. was wonderng if anyone had any ideas for a over night or day hikes in Japan, in the areas of Niigata or Hakuba and or in between or just around.

prefer to get in the alpine and some beauty pictures if you have any.

Also what is Miyazaki Prefecture like. Any ideas for hanging out there? or other surf spots.
