I'm working ("working") too. But I'm at home so it's not that bad.

That goes without saying

The Veronicas - they're everywhere and they're incredibly annoying.

BP: You bugger! Yeah it's about time I got a new mp3 player. Mine is only 128KB
Giggsy: Noooooo... let's not confuse the two. Sufjan is much cuter than Shakin':

Mmm... so I'm guessing you really like Phish.

That's a big can, I don't think that would fit on my balcony...
Might have to wait until I have a backyard. Looks like a cool idea though.

Worm poo eh? What's involved?

What is it?

Thanks 011! Looks like it could be getting too much sun. I'll try moving it to our other balcony where there's more shade.
While Spring is on its way for you guys the weather is finally getting cooler here

Does anyone here know much about plant diseases? Our bay leaf tree has started to look very sick - I thought it might be scale so I've been spraying it with a milk/water mix but it doesn't seem to be helping...
I can post a photo to show you what it's like if that helps.
Any ideas?

It's not difficult
I had to drive down the coast this morning to do a story - the traffic on the highway usually makes me cranky so I decided to make a mixed CD with soothing songs for the trip:
Decoder Ring – Somersault
Stars – Heart
Sigur Rós – Starálfur
Sufjan Stevens - Chicago
Faithless – Crazy English Summer
Frou Frou – Let Go
Kanye West – Heard ‘Em Say
Nightmares on Wax – Environment
Nina Simone – Sinnerman (Heavenly Remix)
Layo & Bushwacka – Love Story
Jakatta – American Dream
Unkle – Eye For an Eye

Almost as much as the total lack of gentility that the peasants display, I do however find the 'elegant' gestures of TV eating womens to be almost as repulsive - the hand under the morsel, the hand over the mouth, the hand to the glass, the nodding of appreciation as they chew. -

I remember when people used to spend hours making mixed CDs of their favourite songs - now everyone just heartlessly dumps their music straight onto their iPod.
If you were to make a mixed CD (of around, say, 12 tracks) which songs would you choose?

CB is right. I was in Sydney during the 2000 Olympics and found it to be pretty much exactly what the article describes. There was just a huge party atmosphere and once competitors had finished their events they were pretty much just going wild.
One of my colleages even managed to hook up with one of the athletes.

Good call.

Gado Gado is yum!

I guess it is demeaning to call someone "half" Japanese simply because one of their parents is not Japanese. If you are born in a country and have lived there most of your life then that's your nationality, simple as that.
Having said that, I don't think a lot of people take offense to this sort of thing unless it's said in a demeaning way. People often ask me if I'm "half " and it doesn't bother me a bit.

Spud, the psych profiles that I was referring to are usually distinctly different from personality profiles.
While most (and let me be clear that I mean not all) psych profiles are used to pinpoint a person's flaws and strong points, they usually fail to give an accurate outline of their overall personality.
This is why most organisations are now switching to personality profiling tests such as Myers Briggs. I think these are much more effective.

Doesn't anyone here do both?
