I saw Rod Steward, Sailing.
Great song.
-
Very relaxed where I work. I only have to put a suit on quite rarely.
-
Fingers crossed.
Hasn't seemed as hot as usual to me lately as well. Still hot enough though.

I have just found out that a friend of mine does have the fisheye lens.
-
I want to find some snow monsters next season and get their cheeky features on my camera. One of the top priorities.
-
Well I'm not very technical but I really do like that lens. It allows me to get those wide angle shots and also some really close up ones. Fantastic results all the time so far. I haven't noticed the lens cap falling off at all kumapix btw.
-
Yes it has a new lease of life after that little bump there.
Lots of smiles too!
-
I love that 18-200 lens, I am so glad I paid a bit extra to get that one.
Has he not given a reason for a switch thursday?
Still, still got a sly eye on that fisheye. As much as I know it might just be a novelty, I can see myself getting it one of these days.

Great photo soubs!

Quote:Thats why I re-posted
... over 12 hours after the original post was deleted by SJ, and after I pointed out your put-down in the photography thread. I see.
(Though I suppose you have special rights to insult and be sarcastic when you see fit, as a 'long standing member', right?)
Anyway I'm really not one for confrontation or nastiness, never thought I'd be caught up in something like this! I'm not going to get any more involved in any of this at all.

Coconuts, yes they are superb. Also a big fan.

Quote:I'm really disappointed that people didn't stick up for a long standing member. A member that has bought people cameras and etc plus. actually offered to buy people stuff at cheaper prices. Then doesn't get defended for just asking to use goggle. BP Thurs etc and the likes I am disappointed, you could've and shouldve done better.
Miller you owe an I'm sorry for being an prick
I'm not one to usually pick an argument (and if you look back over the thread you will see that apart from that one instance when I was being repeatedly ridiculed for not using google -or "goggle", if that's it- I think I have said thank you for many things), but can't let that self-important post go.
Who exactly do you think you are?
As far as I know, you do not own this forum or are even a moderator.
As far as I know, there are no special rights coming along with being a 'long standing member'.
Then again you seem to think so.
Yesterday, from Fattwins, included:
- calling me a 'an prick';
- posting simply 'gay' in the other thread I started (was that my punishment from a 'long standing member'?), which either you having second thoughts removed or admin did;
- the call to arms with other 'long standing members'; and
- blasting someone else in another thread yesterday for asking something about Niseko.
So as far as I am concerned, and not particularly wanting to be rude in return, you can go and stick your nose somewhere else. -
Well I haven't been since I got my new camera, so I am going to wait until I can go armed with the beast. I certainly will post when I have them!
-
OK I know we have a photography thread, but I want to talk about good mountains to shoot. I'm really into mountain scenery - both in winter and out of winter, and wondering what your favorites are?
I really love Myoko and that area. That is a really good looking mountain. Another good place that I really like up in Shiga Kogen there are some really good shapes going on up there.
Can't wait to get out there with the camera.

Yes I am learning about white balance now and getting some good results from manually changing it. This is all a lot of fun.
Still interested in that funky fisheye lens.
-
Well spend all that cash I feel the need to go mad!! A lot of fun it is though, finding the shots.
-
I'm just loving this camera - 600+ pics taken now, still early learning but having tons of fun
-
Morning yes looks like it will be another nice day, but I'm going to be sorting photos!
-
I wrote to Nikon support in the States about my little issue and they came back with:
"No this is not a defect it's normal. It provides power for that specifc focus site to illuminate and indicate focus."
There we go.
I looked at Canons and Sonys when I was out to buy, but decided that the Nikons were the way to go.
-
Fine lines around active focus area in viewfinder = These phenomena are normal and do not indicate malfunction.
That's that then I suppose. It may have been there from the beginning. I'll just accept it as a "feature"!
-
Hmm, wondering about that line.
As I said it doesn't affect the photos at all, and seems to appear when the camera is turned on. Anyone with a D200?
Yes I think from now on it will be FINE and MEDIUM for me too. Live and learn!
-
Some of my photos from today
-
Photos look good but I wish I had it set to FINE when I took them. I thought I had, but they were done on NORMAL. I'd have liked to have seen them at their "finest"!
Just something I noticed now. When looking through the viewfinder with the camera switched ON there is a very faint vertical line going from the central bottom to the middle focus mark in the centre. It disappears when the power is off. I hadn't noticed it before but presume it is ok and normal - it doesn't show on the photos. Did I just not notice it before?
