Do you have any insights as to why this is le spud? You'd think they might be a happy welcoming people with their lovely environment and those touristy people giving them tons of cash.

Quite a few of us will be spending some time in airports over the next few weeks it seems. I was wondering what people do with their few hours or so at an airport? Read, look at shops, play games?
I often try reading but always end up just seeming to waste my time but do nothing in the process.

I have only taken a very brief look through online headlines, but they seem uncharacteristically (?) not too critical. It might have been a better performance from England than before, and Portugal didn't do much positive either, but it was still just not good enough.

Haven't seen a replay of the red card as well but if it is true that Ronaldo was waving 'a card' in front of the ref, and then winked at the bench as if to say "job done" - when it's his TEAM-MATE (at ManYoo) - then that is just ****ing sick. Even if the England game is on at 4am (??) I will get up and watch it. There's just something about watching totally live that is worth it.
The other games I'd like to watch live as well but my body might complain so they can be in the morning.

I spoke to a few people about this once as I totally agree with you. They seemed to be implying that people were proud of the huge structures - that it showed that they were living in a modern world and progress.

I went to bed at half time I wasn't going to give up my sleep for that bollocks. That first half probably really was the most boring of the tourny so far.

The problem is, the same guy - Okada - was (I'm pretty sure) talking up Japans chances big time and contributing to all the unrealistic shit up front before the games.

Not many headline games in that first week I see. Apart from Chelsea winning once more, I think United & liverpool will be 2nd and 3rd. A big ??? this season will be where Arsenal will be. Hopefully a long long way off.
