  1. oh ya and i'm hoping to ski at least a few times a week maybe more it all depends.
  2. I like to straightline through the tight skinny part and then make gs turns on the fan below.
  3. They said they were going to give me a choice of locations but in the end their priority is to fill empty spots. So I tend to think that I will be stuck in a big city. I like to party but I don't care how close I am to a big city, I'd rather go skiing and hit a few beers with ski friends. Thunder Bay is the biggest city I've ever lived in and it's only like 120 thousand hahaha and there's plenty enough partying here for me. Someone mentioned getting a car are they easy to find cheap?
  4. Haha point taken about Thunder Bay. Thanks for the help it's much appreciated. I put in a "special" request to be near the mountains and not in Tokyo with NOVA. Who knows if they will even take it into consideration. Thanks for the map Fattwins.
  5. Thanks guys I'm researching it right now. I'm serious about skiing but all this talk about only 250 000 yen a month is getting me a little down.
  6. Ya I don't need great skiing after work, maybe a couple kickers some rails and groomies. But it would be nice to be able to get some real skiing in on the weekend. It sounds like I won't be doing much skiing this winter. What places have hills in town? I'm curious I know about Mt. Moiwa in Sapporo but that's all I could find.
  7. Thanks for the responses guys. It's so hard to figure out the geography of the country because there are so many prefectures and names and areas within cities, and there really isn't a comprehensive map of cities and ski areas and whatnot. So I guess there really aren't too many places that it is possible to be at a hill for some after work night runs like in Vancouver or Calgary etc. Are there many people who get out regularly from Tokyo on a teacher's salary?
  8. So I just had an interview with Nova and it looks like i won't be able to teach in Sapporo, they tell me they don't have any openings. So they said they would do their best to put me close to skiing. What are some cities in japan that are the closest to skiing or have a hill right in town? Niigata seems close but i'm not sure. thanks
