Thanks guys. Looks like Asahidake is definitely on the list! And not to worry Yamakashi, I'll blend in like I'm a local... admittedly a 195cm tall aussie local... but it'll be right! Besides, who wants to go to all the way to another country to ski with people from home... I've already done whistler! Anyone skied at Kamui, somewhere around Asahikawa?

I'm headed over to Japan to see the g/f for a couple of weeks in late January \ early Feburary. She is currently based in Shibetsu, about an hour north of Asahikawa. Without travelling too far (ie. not niseko), any suggestions on where to ski? I can handle a couple of hours travel to a resort.
