  1. Including an automatic calendar entry in an email.

This happens to me at work all the time. I receive an email from somebody in the office inviting me to attend a meeting/luncheon or whatever. As soon as I open the email, it automatically calendars the event into MY CALENDAR! This can be handy for things I have confirmed attendance to, but I think rude otherwise.

  2. Yeah, at least I hear they pay overtime to the hourly guys. All salaried guys are completely salary.

My ma would never let us watch TV during meals either. Good for the family, I think. Caused us to eat real fast though...ha.

I too need to get outta here...114 days left!

  3. yeah, I suppose the gender roles do play a part in there somewhere.

i do work for a japanese company. while everybody seems to be pecking away at their computers from before my arrival until well after my departure everyday, i am convinced nobody is really doing anything and would prefer to be watching tv.

the younger guys do keep a schedule similar to mine though...unless they are workign for OT to save up for a new videogame or something.

  4. I was in Interlaken about 5 years ago. It is a beautiful place centering around extreme recreation these days. Canyoning, rafting, etc. A friend and I jumped a static line into a gorge about 100 meters deep. It was probably the scariest thing I have ever done in my life. We also went paragliding!! This city offers everything you think Switzerland is supposed to offer plus some. AND....

although technically illegal to "consume," grass is sold in coffee shops!! ;\)

Never been to Austria...but have heard it has some really beautiful castles and that sort of thing...Vienna particularly.

So ask yourself....do you want natural beauty with excitement and partying or do you want a history lesson. Either option should fare thee well.
