MITO -- An 82-year-old woman who hit her husband with an ax handle because she believed he was having an affair was arrested on Wednesday, police said.
Mitsu Horie, from Daigo, Ibaraki Prefecture, is accused of attempted murder after her 80-year-old husband fell unconscious in the attack.
The eldest daughter of the couple found her father bleeding from the head in his bedroom at about 1 a.m. on Wednesday, and immediately called an ambulance.
Police officers rushed to the couple's home and arrested Mitsu after she admitted to hitting him with an ax.
"I thought he was having an affair so I tried to kill him while he was sleeping," officers quoted the wife as saying. (Mainichi Shimbun, Japan, Nov. 17, 2004)

Fox News Channel To Sign Off In Japan - Nikkei
TOKYO (Nikkei)
News Broadcasting Japan Co. has decided to stop airing the U.S.-based Fox News Channel at the end of July, The Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported in its Wednesday morning edition.
The News Corp. Ltd. (NWS) group company airs the news channel, as well as the Fox network and the National Geographic Channel, through satellite broadcaster Sky Perfect Communications Inc.
But the company has signed up only about 4,000 subscribers to the news channel, and has concluded that reaching a suitable level of profitability is almost impossible.
Broadcasting of the other two channels will continue.

Do we have many whisky drinkers here. I hate it, even the smell - although in some strange way I wish I could enjoy it.
