EMS is the way to go. I got a bike frame back to the US for about 7000 yen. It took about a week so the shipping time is not bad either.

Best place I found is Paddle Club on Nango Dori in Atsubetsu. There are several people there that speak English.
Another god Spot ICI sport
Both stores have people that actually ski working there as opposed to Xeibo where they seem to be just salespeople.

Niseko uses electronic lift passes.

Akiba has several Doner stands.

If you have a U.S. Garmin there is some third party topo maps available for Japan. Cant remember the name right off but there was some info over on the avi section of the section of the forums.

I remember see them up in some sport shops in Namdemoon market last winter

Post offices will have an ATM that take foreign credit cards. The machines are in English so you wont have any problems.

Woodpeckers over in Moiwa is cheap. The owner Shinya is well known in the Niseko area and his wife is an excellent cook.

I'm there just let me know.

No foreigners go through the J line any more. Even if you have a Gaijin card and multiple entry visa.

I agree. We have already started. While not a big line the trip to Gosheki Onsen form Niseko Moiwa and back was rather enjoyable. My son really enjoyed it

I think this is an outdated concept (or at least becoming outdated). This was the view in many places, but snowboarding seems to have appealed to the masses and doesn't have the elitist rep that skiing does. Whether people have stayed boarding or went onto ski I dunno, but I think the "snow sports are elitist sports" is old hat. It may well change in China

Have you seen the prices of things elsewhere. Lift tickets at Vail are $80 for a day. Skis are upward of $600. How can you not say that there is not a bit of elitism there. -

I usually crop with Photo Shop and then resize with either Picassa or MS Office Picture Manager. PS has the only decent crop tool I have found.

I use to have some old lacroix skis. These were wicked light. Maybe a bit hard to find. They were one of my favorite skis.
