  2. What ever your view of the war was is all kind of irrelevant now. We all have to live with the aftermath of it. IMO pulling troops out of the region is the worst thing that could happen. The area is way to unstable to just up and leave.

By Spain pulling out the terrorist could perceive this as a victory. The end result being they now step up their terror campaign by trying to persuade other countries by using the same tactics. Sounds kind of grim. How many other countries are on that list?

Unfortunately the US is the only supper power left and it’s easy to point a finger at. I’m not saying its perfect but it’s the old adage dam if you do dammed if you don’t. They probably could support their own oil needs by opening up a full blow oil production program in Alaska. But that would be environmentally not good. The list goes on.

Until the US, the World stops it reliance on oil from the Middle East and else where, we are doomed to all walk down the path were on. Considering most countries get their oil from the Middle East we all are doing our part to support some of the regimes in power there now.

As for the Middle East they’re not exactly innocent either. Consider this almost all the oil profit of Saudi Arabia goes to the royal family. While the average person on the street lives in squalor the elite few are living life rather large. Iraq and Iran all the same story just take one look at one of Sadam’s palaces. The only exception to the rule maybe Kuwait. These countries are sitting on some incredible wealth yet they cant or won’t provide for there people. Instead they place all the blame on the west.

Anyway just my two cents for what its worth.

  3. I skied in Korea for about four years. Overall I had a fairly positive experience there, both skiing and with the people in general. My wife’s Korean. I think one of the problems with skiing there is skiing has become the golf of winter. You are expected to golf in the summer and ski in the winter. This puts a lot of pressure on the ski resorts.

Another of the problem there is that they don’t limit the lift tickets being sold at least not to my knowledge. The slope there can be extremely crowed at times. People running into each other can be common with multiple people pile-ups some times happening.

If your there when it’s winter check out the skiing in Korea. Korea is defiantly not the place to go just to ski for a vacation. I would recommend Muju or Dragon Valley. These are the two largest resorts and the skiing there is pretty reputable. They have held some world cup races at Dragon Valley. Don’t expect much powder.

  4. What it boils down to it is up to each skier to ski in a controlled manor. I can usually tell the beginners using the slope by the way they turn and the amount of slope they use up. I adjust my speed accordingly pass them and then continue. If the slope is just that crowed go-slow and find a slope with less people. If you can’t control your speed enough to avoid an accident you have no business going that fast. Show a little courtesy and respect. As far as some of the teenagers we were all their once just keep an open eye out for them. Try to rest up in as safe area as possible. Above all else enjoy yourself where all out here to have fun.

  5. I took an avalanche course a few years back. I was pretty interesting learned a lot. We got to practice using beacons digging pits and what to look for, probe lines. But one of the few things that really struck me was the fact that if your party cant self rescue, your pretty much SOL. If a rescue party has to come up to have to help the only thing they will be looking for is body. The chance of surviving an avi after being buried for 15 minutes goes down dramatically. The point is make sure you know the conditions make sure everyone knows how to use there avalanche rescue gear. Practice using it. Come to think of it I’m probably about due to take a course again.
