  1. What an awsome night!! clap.gif Started off well with the tickets and beer being free after I won them from the radio and just got better. Astro Hall is a pretty cosy, intimate venue and was about 80 or so people there so suited the music perfectly, which turned out to be a great surprise. Ane Brun has the most amazing voice, if you like a good ballad with some interesting lyrics then check it out. Live she was just superb, the crowd was dead silent as her vocals just blew us away! She has done collaborations with Ron Sexsmith and Jeff Buckley and the like.

Hello Saferide were also pretty good, with some more upbeat stuff and rocking on the very retro melodica wind keyboard!!!! All three acts including Wendy Mcneil (bit like a swedish Alanis Morrisete playing an accordian!!) have some great lyrics, even witty at times. \:D Great show, good times, a new fan of Ane Brun!! \:D

Also what is it with people from Sweden, they all have AMAZINGLY good english!!? Really nice crowd!

  2. On the Saturday I went it was heaving, really busy in the tent and also all the tables outside taken plus plenty of people milling around, but they have a fair few staff on so didn`t have to wait too long for the goodies. Was just right for good atmosphere with singing and live performances plus plenty of banter to be had. Guess weeek nights wouldn`t be so busy though.

Prob be popping down on Friday afternoon after work again as am up that way.

  3. Was there on Saturday at the weekend supping back some pretty good beers in HUGE glasses served by buxom german wenches! Plenty of weiners, sauer kraut, um pa paaaing and the like also! Jolly good time all round! Not a patch on the real thing but still good excuse for a piss up, and pretty good atmosphere with everyone sat next to each other chatting \:D

Is on until this weekend, just near the red brick warehouse thingy on the wharf. Leader Hosen-tastic! \:\)

  4. Just bought a nice swanky new pair and got a few spare lenses that am chuffed about. As sad as it was I was wearing them around the house last night trying them out peeling onions!! Just thinking about others thoughts on lens colour for different conditions. I used to have a yellow/orange lens which was good for most conditions but got a wee bit dark when it was overcast or low light. End of last year had a pink lens which I found loads better. Other peoples preferences?

  5. Was at the Ochanomizu end of that last weekend and found an awsome wee shop in the back alley there, got some wicked deals on now of some of last seasons gear. Picked myslef up a new pair of pretty sweet goggles with a few pairs of lenses for about half the price. Mate I was with bought a new board and jacket; was pretty amsuing seeing the looks he got on the train on way back wearing his jacket and poised as if ready to hit the piste in Chiba!! Definately worth a look around the back, however once you get there it`s hard to leave as there are SO many shops you end up in them all searching for that bargain!!

  6. Just talking about this on finger nail thread and there are some insane jobs to be had! For example Jennifer Lopez apparently employs a nipple tweaker/fluffer during her video shoots so that she is always smuggling smarties during the filming!!

Had a mate who worked on the Kylie Minogue music vid. (the one with the big white dress thing that gets blown in the wind)! His job was to airbrush her nipples out of the picture which were on show a fair bit due to the very low cut top thingy!! How fantastic is that!?!

  7. Watched "Riding Giants" a while back and it starts with this scene where the camera pulls out from a tight shot of the surfer to gradually reveal an absolute MONSTER of a wave, I think it has to do with the angle it is shot at from the helicopter, but it just looks too big! Anyone seen it? Can`t remember the location or the surfer at the time but is it CG or real? Its just crap your kecks big!

  8. All depends on time of year, weather, day of week, and cold beer!! USed to have a regular working week job but now I could go from summer time when its 9-10am-4am next day, to anything in winter based on what`s happening that week. Currently considering taking a masters coarse here though which would change things a lot. Personally I like the random work days, getting into to much of a routine I think can be bad, also keeps you on your feet.
