  1. Take a look at the socks of the player behind. Think you`ll spot Nigeria there.

As for the manbags. Had endless fun rippping the piss out of my mate carrying his `Paul Smith` man bag last weeek. It looked like a shopping bag, and was incidently bought for him by his j-girlfriend. What really nailed his coffin was the fact that he insisted, like a true girl, on carrying it with him as he went to the toilet!

    What`s with that?!!

  2. So both times I mentioned I think Iwas not at fault for a number of reasons. I was going at a moderate pace on uncrowded slopes turning fairly shallow, regular and therefore easily predictable turns. I was below and they came from behind. They weren`t just clips or crossover of woods they were full on bodily smacks. Even when I go through them in my mind I can`t understand how these folks managed it.

Something that springs to mind is wise words my Mum told me when I was learning to drive which was always make sure you can always stop in the space you can see ahead of you. Kinda makes sense to me.

What I am interested in is even if you can be bothered to wait for the ski patrol (or fetch them), what do they actually do?

    Is it worth it?

And will the gaijin get blamed anyway? (sorry couldn`t resist)

  3. So I have recently been felled and wiped off the face of the snow for the second time (1st time skier, 2nd time boarder, incase you were wondering) while just innocently doing my thing. Both times causing damage to my boards which have needed repairing.

Now after the initial shock has worn off and the "watch out you bleedin idiot, what d`ya think yer playin at?" has been translated, I just kinda lick my wounds and get on with it.

After, I`m left wondering why the hell I should suffer for some idiot who can`t contol themselves.

So is there an accepted practice for somehow sorting out an acknowledgement of blame?

  4. They`re deadly serious and it is true, creame eggs are getting smaller.

Apparently glaswegian men eat the least amount of vegetables than any other men in the western world. My geography teacher said so. Must be true. :p

Dunno how they descovered it, but must have involved beer at some stage (beer batter?!). Deep fried locusts are supposed to be good too.

  5. Trying desperetly to make my mind up where to go next. Thought about doing a season down under but heard not so good things about the snow (they were Kiwis too). Wanna see more of Asia, prob travelling.

LARD, if you`re prepared to teach then China is a doddle by all accounts.

  6. Can`t understand all these (young talented English) players going to Chelsea. How many games do they think they are gonna be able to play?

Lampard seems to be holding his own, but Cole and Parker need to be playing week in week out.

Gets me down. They`ll probably just flounder on the benches, what a waste. mad.gif

  7. Heard about these places in Niseko (Hirafu) and wanted to know the score.

I think I found Fattys last year, the kinda mobile unit? There was no one there but us though. \:\(

Is Jams anything to do with Jams Garden pension? Cos there was a bar in the basement, but again we were the only ones in there.

Going Sunday morning and wanted somewhere nifty to hang out in the evenings. Any ideas?

  8. 3.

I`m the middle one of three. Nothing wrong with me!!! Never felt left out either, always thought I had the best of both worlds.

Going on a limb here, but surely there is more (unfair) expectation if you`re the only one? Reckon my Mum would be far more agitated with me all the way over here if it wasn`t for my brother and sister getting married and producing little nippers already.

  9. Thanks folks, plenty to think about there.

The board is only 10 days boarding old so I figure it shouldn`t be convexed, not yet anyway.

I meant forward lean of the bindings. What difference does more, or less, forward binding lean actually make?

In my mind more forward lean should put a little more weight onto your toes making the board slide behind but I have the opposite problem. When I tried more forward lean it doesn`t seem to fix it.

I try to keep weight evenly spread, will pay more attention to that.

Have checked the edges, all seems clear there.

Not much I can do about the sidecut, but it is the same on both sides so shouldn`t be a problem yeah?

Will be trying the big board at Niseko, so I`ll get back on the `other board` angle.

Look where you wanna go, sounds like fair advice too.

    Hhmmm....

    Thanks kindly for the tips

  10. Dims, went to the sale this morning.

Looked extensively for the salamon stuff you wanted. They didn`t have any of the boards you mentioned (they did have some other models). There weren`t any real good mittens either.

    These were the boots available (limited sizes);

    F20 25,000

    maori 21,700

    synapse 27,000

    malamute 33,000

just for reference they had Burton SL6 for 36,700

I did not need a ticket thingy either. Picked up a board bag, been after a new one for a while. Tempted by a Burton Seven (45,000) but just couldn`t justify it to myself.

  11. When cruising along with the board flat, usually on a not so steep part, and going straight, I can`t seem to stop my board drifting. It`s difficult to explain, but it`s like the back end wants to slide forward which creates an alarming possiblilty of catching an edge. This forces me to turn toeside.

I also find it far more comfortable to coast along on the toe edge than the heel edge. Is this normal?

    My angles are F 22, B 4.

I`ve also been messing around with the forard lean, but doesn`t seem to help.

Any gems of wisdom, greatly appreciated \:\)
