  1. One question.

Am I right is saying that one of the first 'military' objectives for the US/UK was securing the oil fields?

And if so didn't the Coalition give the game away a bit? I mean what kind of military strategy is that for a war which is primarily about liberating a people and hunting for weapons of mass destruction.

  2. Outclassed though they won 4-3?

I admit they were well beaten in the first leg.

What I'm saying is that if he really wanted to play for his country he'd be getting regular football somewhere else rather than benching all the time, that was his first start since something like November!?

  3. Ray you do enjoy controversial threads don't you?

My only problem is that the current US administration has the attitude that "might is right". Why oh why do Bush, Rumsfeld and co feel the need to steamroller world-wide opinion? Simple answer... because they can.

Don't you think that that kind of attitude will increase hostility?

Current US foreign policy is caught in a vicious circle, where war is an inevitability. I think that war is the outcome of a lack of understanding, so yes negotiation, not matter how slow and tedious is the way forward. While war creates quick and tangible results, it only leads to more war/terrorism!!

  4. Steve Macmanaman is waste of space, he's been sitting on the bench for so long his ass is riddled with splinters! You'd think he'd have more ambition to play for England, but he seems happy to collect his massive wages for doing nowt!

Oh and for all of you guys that a familiar with 'Big' Ron Atkinson he surpassed himself in the PC stakes this week during the Utd vs Real match.

"There's more Pasta than Paella in the semi's..."

Referring to 3 Italian and 1 Spanish team(s) in the semi's!

  5. It's easy, I started off skiing, which is dead easy to master (The Art of the Snow Plough!) in a week, the course of your average holiday.

But for me snowboarding (to really enjoy it) took about 3 weeks, before that I was just cr*pping my pants about either:

    a) Breaking my coccyx (sp?)

    B) Knocking out my teeth!

It all depends on how accessible the slopes are, and like most Brits up until I spent a season scrubbing rich peoples bathrooms etc and serving them their food! I'd only ever spent a 'week-at-a-time' in the mountains.

  6. $30 million!? Try £35 million which is about $50 million +. He will then want a salary of about £8 million, if todays Daily Mail is to believed (I lied I'm not YET in Osaka!) plus he'd probably get a signing on fee of about £1 or 2 million!

The problem is he's just signed a new contract for Man Utd worth £100,000 a week so Real would have to top that!

But being as they've bought Figo, Zidane and Ronaldo for a combined fee of about £130 million (in the last three years) exclusive of their HUGE eek.gif salaries I should think they are THE ONLY team capable of getting Goldenballs to move!!
