I LOVE chocolate. I find the best thing to do is deny yourself any sweet foods ice cream/ chocolate etc for a few weeks or months then just have a binge for a day or two. Makes it all the sweeter when you eat, but it does take a certain amount of self control I suppose.
I can't imagine just not having any again, what's the point in denying yourself a special treat????

The very thing they are meant for destroys them. Something a little ironic about that.
Do the same physics apply for a guy not wearing a jock strap? If so I'm going to the gym naked from now on.....

I do miss J girls and their sexy boots look!

I don't think you can lay the blame just on parents. When do kids take responsibility for what they eat?
Most of the sport I did was in school, namely rugby. I have always kept fit because I played sport from a young age. But I also liked to play on the computer console for hours! But I was also aware that if I ate unhealthy food I'd have to exercise or I'd have problems.
I remember seeing somewhere (I think it was on Bowling for Columbine) that the kids went Ten Pin Bowling to get a "Sports Credit".
Wooow kids easy on the exercise! -

A friend of mine recently refused to hire a few overweight people on the grounds that "...they lack self discipline and project an image of laziness..."
They never knew what he thought of them of course. -
I haven't given any money to charities for years! But i do tend to give random amounts of change to homeless people.
Is that bad? I'm in a dilemma now.
Next time I see a homeless person I'll have to explain that I can't give them any money as I have to give it to Friends of the Earth. I'm sure they'll understand.

Well I'd like to be first to show my respect for Mr Blair.

I can't understand why people think there is a link between bodyweight/shape/size and self respect????
Perhaps self-esteem, but not self-respect.
P.S I'm not overweight or underweight but I was having a discussion with a bunch of friends about this subject a couple of days ago and thought I'd share.....

As I said the list isn't exhaustive. -
I'm REALLY suprised by the results so far. I thought we'd have a few more sympathetic minds.
I think laziness is a common misconception as to why people are overweight. Unhappiness seems to be a common reason.
-
Yeah I think it'd be nearly impossible to list all the reasons!!!

There were/ are very few overweight people in Japan. However I think this situation may be chaniging. In the USA and UK today, peoples waist size are expanding. Rapidly.

Well maybe I have missed something. I think it's just that I am feeling incredibly irritated recently with all the texts and e-mails I get from friends and family using cr*ppy TXT SPK!
Anyway

I haven't been on the Snow Japan forum for a while so I may have missed something here, but I have noticed loads of "text-type" replies and postings. Is this a new fashionable way of replying to posts? Or is it just laziness? Yes I admit to rushing a reply here or there and screwing them up, but WHN PEPLE STRT MISSIN LTTRS OR USIN NMBRS, ITS NOT GR8T!!!
A quick example:

It was a totally cowardly way of dumping the poor girl, but I had the summer of my life!!
-
Great topic!
The worst dumping I've recieved was when the girl I was seeing just stopped calling and wouldn't reply to me...nice!
The worst dumping I've ever given was by packing my things and calling my girlfriend of 3 years from my new home/job/life in France....we lived in the UK.

I reckon Nicole is spot on, 30 mins is about right. Or if I'm going out somewhere a bit fancy I'd say 45 mins(providing I've already ironed my clothes):
15 mins for a shower
10 mins for a shave
5 mins looking for stuff
10 mins dressing and farting around with my hair
5 mins for the obligatory can of beer or glass of wine pre-departure.
45 mins.

It is really sleazy, it has a Frankenstien-like transplant of the USA in the middle of a Japanese city. They have this terrible mock Statue of Liberty made out of plastic. Can't say I had much time the place unless I'd drunk a lot of beers - an thus ending up in the gutter.
P.S Totallu off topic are there any Kiwis from Hawkes Bay on here? -
I remember a late night out in Osaka (America-mura) was followed by waking up around the back of a McDonalds, in the gutter.
Upon awakening still drunk...very drunk, I "worked" for an hour or so in one of those little hippy clothes shops they have.
Just a drunken, smelly, stained gai-jin shouting at young kids to "...buy this sh!t it's great!"

It looks like Brokeback Mountain is gonna win a load of Oscars if the Golden Globes and BAFTA's are anything to go by.
Can anyone explain to me why everyone is going so crazy for a story about the cladestine love of two gay cowboys?
