  1. Used to deliver pizzas in high school. Best pirks were oven-fresh pizza whenever you wanted and grabbing all the leftover pies at the end of the day. My car and clothes stank of pizza sauce after a a day of work though. In terms of tips, the size of the house was inversely proportional to the size of the tip (with the exception of large deliveries).

Had a buddy who worked at a Burger King for a while back in the day. He used to just sell food to customers without using the register, and pocket the money. Got away with it until he quit!

Sounds like an instant party to me!

Hand out the booze, and fire up the Skillmaster!

I'm pretty sure Steven Segal practices Aikido. Funny you should mention him though... I just saw him on the news this morning meeting with Koizumi!

Dims - I've only half-assed searching for a jujitsu dojo on the internet, but I do plan to get moving by this fall... I'll deff let you know if I find one.
  4. I always go for the "sono mama de ii desu."

Regardless, I still manage to accumulate a ton of plastic at home and at my office. Japan is in love with super packaging. What's up with boxes/bags of cookies and snacks that are individually wrapped (omiage not included). what a waste!

  5. Looks like there's no end to the reality crap in America... They just started a new all-reality tv network: Reality Central

I was home a few weeks back, and had a chance to catch a few of these gems of contemporary entertainment... I saw commercials for a spinoff of "who wants to marry a millionare," entitled Who wants to marry my Dad .

There's also a show called Queer Eye for the Straight Guy which is a show where a group of gay dude's remake a straight guy and fix up his house/apt, I caught one show and it was admittedly pretty funny/entertaining.

Bravo tv network seems to be paving the way with Gay themed reality shows, but Boy meets Boy is way over the top.... A gay dating show where some of the contestants are straight dudes thrown in there to mix things up.... haven't seen that one.... but wtf!

  6. Yea, i've seen ai nori too. That show's not bad at all... Maybe a little sappy, and too much crying, but still pretty good.

I saw an episode of Blackmail where this girl sets up her boyfriend by ketai mailing him messages from a separate email address, posing as an old high school classmate, to arrange a date. The unsuspecting guy goes to some restaurant for the date, and eventually starts talking about going to a hotel.... so the ex-classmate girl goes to the bathroom, and the girlfriend comes back to the table dressed in the exact same outfit... the guy's reaction was priceless. Makes you cringe quite a bit to see someone continuously shoot themself in the foot, but funny stuff.

  7. Taekwondo is a korean martial art, and yea I think its mostly about kicking, but I don't think it's known to be a very strong or useful style in "real world" situations.

I'm still looking for a ju-jitsu school in tokyo, and it seems like ju jitsu dojos are rare in japan.... weird being that this is where it comes from! I'm now thinking about trying "shooto" or shootfighting which is supposedly a modern day ju jitsu... dunno yet though. either that or just join a regular gym....

  8. I think the ramen you're talking about it tonkotsu ramen. I think they make the broth by throwing a bunch of pig bones, and knuckles into a big pot and boiling it forever.... I've been in those joints, and yea... they stink! The ramen tastes good, but the one time I ate it, it left a stank on my lip that took a day to wash off. \:o
