i hear ya subby, i hear ya!
Quote:Quote:i`m not on me soap box just yet, but tha jury is well an truly out.
one thing i`ve been thinking about while we`re wating for tha season `proper` to kick off is:- What must all the peeps who have made the `early` visit here be thinking right now??? i mean, they would have been sold with a marketing campaign that included a segment on a prime-time travel show, and the endless preaching of how when the cold fronts cross tha j sea from siberia blah blah blah... i`m tippin a lot of `em wish they`d stayed at home. no doubt they`re now being told that this late start is a `freak`, and just to soften `em up a bit, they`re already probly been given a `discount` for next season, with even more dribble about how we couldn`t POSSIBLY have TWO late seasons in row...

this article might give some indication as to what to expect in the not too distant future.

Good point Deano. I haven`t actually been to Aspen (although i have spent some time in Vail/Beaver Creek), so i think i know what ya mean.
I sure as hell hope it doesn`t go that way. Yeah, it`s good for the local economy an that, but peeps were gettin by before the big influx. I`ve been goin there since Jan. `99, and the change sure is noticable. I`m not one to deny someone makin a buck or two, but the bottom line is GREED. Who says when `enough is enough`???
I think some of the operators who are in there now have got `in` with some of the J. locals and basically promised them the world, and the Japanese being who they are, have found it difficult to say "NO", to some of their requests. Not all bad though, as I personally know of one operator who deeply respect, understand and co-operate fully with the locals. But who polices the operators? Themselves? It gets back to GREED!
Oh, and standby for a heap of `fly-by-nighters` out for a quick buck, with no regard for the locals or enviroment. That`s what happened in places like Aspen/Vail/Beaver Creek...
In answer to your q. deano, I `ope not. Only time will tell i guess.

deebs, if i were u -(which thank god i`m not ) i woudnt go any longer than a 161 (64 at a pinch). if you`re in tha deep, just make sure ya bindings are back as far as they can go.
i rode a 161 all last season and got away with it ok, and we`re similar size. (not downstairs though- i way kick your ass there ). even in tha pow, there weren`t any times when i wished i`d had some extra length.
for your type of riding, make sure you get somthin on tha `stiffer` side. check out Head Intelligence- superfast board that will excite you, Nitro- good rail to rail riding or Gentem- they make some awesome almt. boards (not just pinnies and pow boards)esp. their concave series, its probly tha closest feeling to surfing on snow as yar ganna get.
good luck, hit ya kick!
btw, i`m glad you`re still happy with that custom

ROOT VEGETABLES! ??? gee, there`s some sikos on this forum

you have an amen right here brother yuki.
"AMEN"
anotha thing that gets me about these trukkin christians, is that, when somethin good happens its gods will. eg: "Isn`t god wonderful? He must`ve wanted that to happen."
but then when things go all pear shaped, its like, "Oh, that happened because of mans imperfection, or because he didn`t have enough faith in god."
makes me wanna puke

deebs, i told ya, "Ya`v gotta slay tha dragon to get to the Princess."

give it a few years thunder-dude, and all those ties you found will b back IN!
do suits maketh tha man? or do man maketh tha suit? i agree with db- "IT`S HOW YOU WEAR THEM."
a lot o`peeps dont feel comfortable in `em cos they don`t know how to wear `em and so pass `em off as troublesome and unnecessary. but worn correctly they can be cool and sophisticated.
thats wot i rekon anyway...

saw SLIPKNOT a cuppla years ago here @ Summa Sonic. they were... INTERESTING
lyrics almost impossible to decipher. but an awesome bass and heavy drum sound.
i didn`t know much about `em so wasn`t overly keen.(not reeeaally my thang) i sat in tha stand, but tha ground looked like tha place to be- lots of moshing goin on.
sakitumi, go see `em! there are worse things ya could spend ya hard earned on
btw, i saw `Fat Boy Slim` last week and that was somthin`. enyone else catch him??? (sorry, not related, but...uno)

blinken`ek!!! my acupuncturist is blind too. i recently learned that there are quite a few in the field.
must have somthing to do with a `heightened` sense of touch.
also, bcos my j-go isn`t exactly fluent, i often find it diff. to tell him exactly whats wrong. but somehow he manages to `hit tha spot`. amazing, init?
i`d go a massage with a happy ending, right about now.

dorzmiester, i`d give it a thumbs up. i did a boardaX there a few years ago, so only spent one day there. but from what i saw, i liked. has enough steep to keep ya interested, thats for sure.
it was late in tha season-march- but still had plenty of rideable pow. might be worth chekin out, if only to get away from tha maddening crowd thats likely to descend upon niseko this season.
