natural progression. always surfed and at tha time- 1989- snowboarding was being promoted as `The alternative winter sport for surfers`. Even though winter is the best time of year to surf where i come from, the water has the ability to turn ya privates into, well, it gets cold.
wasn`t hooked immediately, but it wasn`t long before it became a `way of life`, just like surfing. haven`t looked back since

There was this one time at band camp.....
nah, one day at Treble Cone, i managed to `do` me shoulder on tha first run. Of course, i went up again, but couldn`t handle tha pain, so i side-slipped all tha way down to ski patrol to get it checked out.
management didn`t even hesitate to give me money back- i didn`t have to ask! peolpe just have to be sensible and do whats in tha best interests of tha punter- isn`t tha customer always right???
i don`t think it`s right that peeps DEMAND stuff if they`re not happy with something..imo
n.b. tha money went straight over tha bar at tha cafeteria. anybody who sat next to me got a beer, (my mates were out riding) i even bought a cuppla mormons a hot chocy

although it has never happened to me, i did hear of a case where it happened to someone(in oz i fink) and they complained. they received compensation. replacement value of tha jacket from memory...
woudnt hurt to mention it to mountain management, ya might get dry cleaning costs at tha very least

"very little flex/stiffness" , (or `pop`) basically equals stability.
also good for edge-to-edge riding and for holding lines in turns,ie. they tend not to `wash-out`. stiff boards are also recommended for high speeds as `soft/flixible` boards are likely to get tha `speed hops`.

tha place certainly isn`t what it used to be! it appears to have lost its `appeal` of being a foreign place to slide.
i`ve been going there since jan. `99 and the change is... remarkable. i no longer hold it in as high esteem as i used to. dont get me wrong, tha snow is still epic and there is tons of it, and i`ve never had an issue with tha terrain, but its all the other b.s. i.e. aussies.(not all mind you, but most)
for tha first time this year, i got to witness what it means to be a `YOBBO`, in full flight, not impressive
i really feel for tha `locals`. they more or less have had no choice/say in developments up there. they`ve more or less been forced into numerous things and in tha name of what??? DEVELOPMENT.how tha joint ends up remains to be seen. but i can`t see how putting in an additional whatever thousand bed hotel can be a good thing.

i went to see `Super Size Me` yesterday. great movie/doco. anybody who cares about their body (esp. the insides) should watch this flick!
also saw `the terminal` two weeks ago. although tha story was unbelievable, i thought it was well written, and i rekon tom hanks did a great job. its not far off bein a tear inducer " title="" src="graemlins/cry.gif" />
